I love your signature Summer_Bay_Sunshine. That's one of my favourite scenes. They should have played a flashback to that during the break-up story line.

Very kind of you to say, thank you beau_t.

Yes it's one my favourite scenes too, and the words did seem very poignant during their separation story line, and will be more so during mid 1996.

I liked Wendy supporting Irene and that she won the country music festival.

Nelson finally stands up to his mum.

its sad Roxy decided to leave before giving Rob a second chance I know she was stringing him along for months.

Spoiler

Thursday Next week we see the episode of Alf running over Angel  and her recovery that follows.

It was good to see Pippa and Michael sorting our their differences by working at it, instead of taking the easy way out and heading straight for the divorce courts.

goodbye and farewell to Roxy (don't let the door hit you on the way out), still felt sorry for Rob.

Glad Irene won the contest, no one seemed to bat an eyelid about Donna's skimpy costume, perhaps the guys were all too busy perving to say anything.

I think it's so unrealistic how all Pippa's kids leave home so soon after school. These days I know people who still live at home at age of 34!.

Back then I think that would have seemed very bizarre and boarding on 'strange' to a lot of people perhaps? Sort of like the assumption would be that he can't look after himself or he's spoiled and still needs his parents to help him function. Not the case these days, but back then I remember that being the general consensus. I don't think it's too unrealistic really anyway, I think the fostering elements makes it even less unrealistic to a degree.

Similarly to Sarah's departure I've felt quite strange about Roxy leaving on such a negative note. I feel sorry for both her and Rob but especially her at the moment. The cancer and then realising that perhaps she's never going to be able to find the love she thinks she's looking for. It's been quite a sad exit for someone who was at one point very upbeat and strong willed (plus irrational at times). It was a shame not to be able to see her great smile one more time, leaving during Rob's performance was quite unintentionally and selfishly cruel too I think.

Definitely the norm back then, in my experience anyhow, especially for country kids.  All of the kids in my family left home when we were finished school, as did most of my school friends.  It was either off to uni in the city, or get a job/apprenticeship, and learn to stand on your own two feet.  A lot more independent and had to grow up quickly.  These days things have gone to the other extreme IMO.

on the subject of Roxy, unlucky in love, or just far to picky?  No one will ever be good enough for her,.leaving summer bay and getting out to see the world is probably the best thing she can do, perhaps she will find a nice Greek guy on her holiday:lol:

Is there any wonder why I don't like little samantha, and why I said "he" should have left with Greg after Bobby died? Look at the way it treated Shannon, making her the laughing stock of the school for vomiting in Mr Fisher's car. At the end of today's episode, because of little girly-voiced samantha, Jesse McGregor and his thug mates gang up on Shannon in the school corridor rubbing salt into her wounds. Jack has to shut them up.
