I can't believe that Fisher is only 50. He looks way older. Jack is such a moron wanting to pull a prank on him.

Well, if you had to deal with the Tugs, Shanes, Lances, Martins and Jacks of the world in your school, you'd have gone grey by your late 40s, too! :lol:

I wonder if Wendy named her son after Willie NELSON the country singer?

It was sweet of the students to give Don a birthday present and I had to laugh when Jacks plan backfired.

Yeah. I remember enough about it to see that it wasn't entirely Alf's fault. And Angel's supposed to be the smarter half of that duo... In all seriousness, I remember How the Aftermath played out and Dieter, Ray and Melissa all did great jobs. Maybe this was cooked up to coincide with one of Ray's breaks as he put in some serious work the year before with Alf being the most used Adult in that period....

It looks to be mostly Angel's fault but it did look like Alf came flying around that corner. (didn't it?) and why not slow right down on a dirt track with someone walking ahead so close to the roadway so you can pass safely or brake easily if they do start to cross over. As a driver i always expect the unexpected or prepare for the unexpected. He did the same thing when he nearly hit Duncan. Came flying around the corner when his driveway was so near to turn into.

Wow Angel just stepped right out onto that road without even looking. :o Alf did seem to be going kind of fast. Not over the speed limit, but faster than I'd go on a dirt track like that with people walking on either side. I'd say the blame is definitely not his though.

The scene of Don receiving the pen from the students was quite touching. And it was funny that he got the same present from Angel and Shane.

Donna... hmmm. Nice but boring. She's failing to make any kind of positive impression on me. I actually find her quite tedious so far. That, coupled with Isla Fisher's yet-to-develop acting, are making this storyline about Shannon's nightmares a lot less effective than it should be.

I don't think Nicola Quilter is the worst actress though (certainly not the best, but not the worst either), she's just been given lousy material so far. Looking forward to the storyline she's remembered for!

I know I'm going back a bit now, but I forgot to comment at the time... I don't think Sally's running away and coming home was handled very well. Sophie's running away was written much better and much more emotionally.

Wendy and Nelson have been and gone. I didn't find Wendy very likeable or sympathetic and I'm not surprised the writers didn't rush to bring her back (ever) again. Although the actress did a great job and her sibling-ship with Irene was believable.  It was a good idea for a storyline - something a bit different. Had a real 1988 H&A feel to it.

Seen up to 1625, so a week behind.Just said goodbye to Roxy, who kind of...went. I guess there was build-up there with the whole wanting-to-go-to-Greece-for-six-months thing but she still decides she's going in the episode where she leaves and seemingly manages to pack up everything she owns in a few hours. The really weird thing, which I did not remember at all, is that the last week of 1994 made such a big deal about her cancer. She leaves four weeks into the new season and it's already been completely forgotten about.

So, Michael and Pippa patch things up.I might change my mind if we go another month without any callback, which I suspect we might, but as it stands they've done a good job of not having it be a case of waving a magic wand, they're still not perfect (and Pippa's very quick to repeat old mistakes) but they're willing to work at it.Looks like that's it for Eric, who went from sleazy to unstable very quickly.Seems more a catalyst for Shannon's storyline than anything else, which is building nicely with her apparent overreaction to things.I actually thought Curtis and Shannon were a bit hard on Jack. The caravan park house gains a bathroom for I think the first time, and people are as bad at locking it as they are at Irene's place.Jack even flushes steroids down the sink with the door unlocked.Sam going to high school: Even more than Sally being there, that seems designed to make people feel old. I'd say that Ben Unwin's bully sounded a lot posher than his later performance as Jesse, which does prevent him being instantly recognisable even if it is obvious when you look.A mention of Gloria, not seen since 1993!

I have found Wendy almost impossible to warm to, she's come across as quite selfish and unlikable and bordering on two-dimensional.I was worried she was going to leave town without any attempt to resolve her storyline but her meltdown at the end of the week may see things brought effectively to a head.Have to see.

Wow, I had no idea Angel's writing ambitions were still a thing at this point, guess the show deserves credit for keeping it consistent.Haven't seen it yet but Angel being run over was shown over Spring Bank Holiday weekend in the UK: I remember watching the aftermath round my aunt and uncle's during half-term!
