The Andrew/Donna storyline was the storyline that got me hooked on Home and Away, so I'm really looking forward to watching it again. The car park thing was a really good introduction of the character I think.

How do you figure that it is a good introduction to the character, Myken? How has parking in a disabled spot got anything to do with domestic violence?

It would be a good introduction to any character, nothing to do with domestic abuse. It's just more memorable than walking into the Diner and saying "Hi I'm new here" (which incidentally he did do later).

I think it was just meant to establish that Andrew's a jerk. (Personally speaking, I'd never park in a disabled spot.If there aren't any other spaces, I park on the road.)

Did he even apologise to Angel? I don't he did...and Angel should have made Shane throw him out of the party. After all it was her party. Why should a jerk who parked in the disabled parking space be allowed at her party?

Wow, so he parked in a disabled parking bay. There were no other disabled parking bays? Shane & Angel couldn't shop somewhere else if their life depended on it? People are extremely judgmental and jumpy when it comes to disabled parking bays. A minor inconvenience, yes. The end of the world? Hardly! Just a glorified excuse to get all jumpy and aggressive while other forms of road rage (full non-disabled carparks, red lights, slow left lane drivers, Sunday drivers etc. etc.) are usually dismissed as trivial.

And as for "establishing that Andrew Warren is a jerk" is proof of narrowminded and judgmental attitudes like people are either completely good or completely evil I mean......whatever happened to the idea of "nobody is evil all the way through"??

First impressions from Andrew parking in a disabled spot aren't good. Like Red Ranger 1 i'd never park in a disabled parking spot because its rude and and does inconvenience people who actually need the extra space.  Anyone who parks there and doesn't have to I would consider to be acting in a rude and selfish manner. It's not the end of the world, but one minor inconvenience turns into a greater one when the same thing happens again and again. There are only so many disabled parking bays and unfortunately when people like Andrew think they can park there (even if for 2 minutes), more and more people think they can do the same, which leads to no available parking for those who need it.

That said though, i thought Shane's actions afterwards blocking his car in was extremely immature.

Remember that this is the 90s when disabled bays were provided as an afterthought, but only usually the minimum to be compliant, unlike today when half a car park is disabled bays.

Also, this is Summer Bay of the 90s where Stewart's was the only store in town, Yabbie Creek was the only alternative and it often seemed like even there choice wasn't an option.

He apologised to Shane, but I don't remember if Angel was there also.

I was trying to avoid saying that in my reply... I could sense the dragon in the wings waiting to be unleashed! :D:unsure:

I think saying it makes a more memorable entrance for any character is a better way of thinking about it that can't be argued with

I'm keeping a low profile as I'm kind of doing a bingewatch (Currently mired in the late 1620s with the Shannon stuff).

The Big Hulking review should be up soon.
