OMG the furore over Selinas jeans seems to be a wee bit over the top, if they could only see what teens wear these days, they would think showing a bit of backside would be fairly tame.

ah, the good old summer bay gossip mill, Andrew should have realised his secret would not be safe for long.  If you have done something wrong in Summer Bay it is certainly not a pleasant place to live.  Wow didn't Irene and Ailsa give him the cold shoulder.

I also think anyone who parks in a disabled spot (ie Andrew) is a jerk.  There are currently now calls to introduce issuing demerit points rather then just a fine for people who do this in australia.  I know things were different back then before the age of such polictical correctness, but I do think also that Shane is just asking for someone to deck him the way he carries on sometimes.  Parking in front of the car wasn't the best solution, perhaps calling someone with the rego number to get a fine issued would have been more productive??

Drama queens I mean anyone would think Andrew just goes around bashing people just because they're females, and that he gets pleasure out of it. I like to know who wrote this whole Andrew and Donna storyline so I can at least give them a piece of me mind. I wonder if the old writers from 21 years ago read these forums or even Google for fan discussion on the old episodes showing on 7TWO I wonder.......

As for the jeans, Irene says Selina is "wrapped up in herself". Has Irene ever tried looking in the mirror? She's the one who's wrapped up in herself!! The old bat.

Curtis and Laura are having a bit of harmless fun yet they have to fear old Alsa, who herself once castigated Alf's sister Vera ("Celia") for just that kind of attitude!

Would anyone have liked to see Mary stay around for a bit longer? It would be funny if Alf returned to find Mary still living at his place with Ailsa keeping it quiet from him!

Alf saying "That's it Mary, out!"

Watched 20 episodes up to 1645 so...still about three weeks behind. Finally made it to the end of the Wendy/Nelson storyline, which didn't really seem to be resolved.Wendy was forced to face up to the fact that Nelson had been supporting them but it didn't actually make any difference:She still insists the big break that'll see them settled is just around the corner, when in fact her career has peaked and she's on the way down, and Nelson just goes along with it.

I know the acting came in for some criticism on here but I found both Shannon and Donna compelling in the conclusion to her abuse storyline, and I remembered a lot of the scenes almost verbatim. The continuity nut in me does ponder how to reconcile this with later revelations about Shannon's birth mother though. We'll see when we get there...This seems like a good point to ask: What happened to that school newspaper Shannon was spending all her time trying to set up?Did she actually publish it or did she get bored and forget about it?

Well, one good thing about Angel's accident is the wonderfully avuncular Doctor Gordon, one of my favourite guest characters. It's a shame we didn't see him again after this storyline, and good that we got a bit of depth to him when he told Angel about his wife's death.Shane continues to veer between surprising maturity and adolescent temper, which I guess is believable for someone his age.Dylan learning Angel is his mother was something else that stuck in the mind.

I remember Elizabeth turning up again later but didn't really remember this storyline.Didn't remember Mary at all, although as is often the case bits of it came back to me as we went along, like that cliffhanger of her smiling gleefully under the covers.I remember Laura very well, for reasons that will soon become clear...Oddly, so far I'm liking her more than I expected. She's massively high maintenance but there's an odd innocence about her, as though she really is clueless to the havoc she's causing.Bit odd that Michael said they didn't have room for her then immediately after let Donna move in.Guess he just didn't want another teen to look after.

Donna telling Irene she and Rob were together without letting Rob know seemed a bit mean, since it meant he had Irene and Selina having a go at him with no idea what he'd done, but he seemed happy to go along with it in the end so no harm, I guess.I could actually see everyone's point of view with Rob hitting Jack.It was a bit something and nothing (and I want to hit Jack on a regular basis so I sympathise) but Don was right to pull Rob out on it and let him know he'd crossed the line.Michael and Jack impressed me by not wanting to make a big deal of it.Donna overreacted but that's understandable knowing what's coming up, there was probably a lot of transference in there.Rob didn't do himself any favours by acting like it was something he'd do regularly rather than a one-off, but I'm willing to accept it as him expressing an extreme point of view he doesn't really hold because he was faced with an equally extreme opposing point of view.

Strangely enough this was just mentioned this week. Pippa asked Shannon if she was still doing the newspaper and Shannon said yes!

There has been some good continuity this week. I loved Ailsa's involvement in the Donna story line and her motivation about not wanting Andrew in the Diner due to her family history. Technically Donna should have known all about Ailsa's past as it was a massive scandal in 1988 when Donna was apparently at school with Roo etc. But it was still nice to see it brought up.

Did anyone notice when Selina snuck out for the night and left that massive teddy on the bed, it was wearing *the* jeans? Nice touch.

The town gossip grapevine in action. Word of what Andrew allegedly used to do to Donna is getting around that small-minded town isn't it. Geez Alsa's got a big mouth. You like her big mouth Beau_T or is it the continuity? Also, I find it really rude of Alsa to pick and choose who she has in the Diner based on her personal feelings. Same goes for Pippa, and Donna's pseudo- "protective" attitude, "protecting" Jack from big bad mean Andrew, like as if he would flip out and kill Jack at any time. Pippa saying if she knew about Donna's allegations, she too would pick and choose with the caravan park, like Alsa does with the diner.

At the moment, I'd say Shane and Angel would have to be the most gullible people in Summer Bay, choosing to live in that dump

Spoiler

(and staying there until the Summer Bay Earthquake)

The continuity. I actually thought it was really out of line for Ailsa to blab to Pippa about it - it's none their business. Ailsa used to tell Celia off for doing that kind of thing.

I did like how Ailsa's past was turned around and used in a different way in Friday's episode: Rather than comparing him to her father, she compared him to herself, realising that Andrew was looking for a new start, just like she was when she came to Summer Bay.

Awwww I got all nostalgic seeing Angel and Shane's house for the first time. It seems like what becomes the front door was originally the back door, for some reason? Definitely a fixer upper.

Angel and Shane's new house is perfect for them. Yep it's not the most glamorous of places, but it's a realistic choice.

Also liked Ailsa's turn around! Good continuity.

String underscores are starting to become more frequent now, but I like how the piano scores are still there. I think they should have continued to use both instead of phasing the piano scores out completely by 1996.

Exactly. They can't afford to be picky. I thought it was good choice for them too.

Love how Fisher is so gentle with Angel :P
