2 people missing from today's episode (1656):

Laura. Curtis looked quite orphaned without Laura to hold his hand despite all the screentime he got, with Shane, and with Selina, Shannon and Marcus and filming that commercial

Andrew Warren, who appears in the following episode

Spoiler

as the thankless hero who rescues Irene who collapses in the Diner.

All Irene is doing is enforcing some discipline which Selina clearly needs and is not used to-so she's acting like a spoiled brat.

Fisher has such a soft spot when it comes to Angel and Shane. Shane doesn't know how good he has it-he's always complaining that Fisher takes over. Well, suck it up Shane, like Curtis says, most teenagers who move out of home don't get this much help from their folks.

What is Selina doing so wrong that Irene is making such a big fuss about and have to enforce harsh discipline? A pair of jeans? Is it because Irene chose to pay for those jeans and she hates her fashion statement so much she has to subject her to extreme discipline? There is such a thing as being reasonable y'know, and Irene really is pushing the limits of what's reasonable and what's trivial. Sledgehammers and nuts.

I agree about Shane being an ingrate refusing to let Mr Fisher help him, while a lot of people don't have such easy access to people helping them

Michael Ross needs his mouth washed out with soap and water for the comments he made about and to Andrew Warren in today's episode (1659). If I was Andrew, I would have decked him one:angry:

I tellya something.......if I had any say in the outcome of the storylines when they were being written in 1995, Andrew and Donna and Curtis and Laura would end up happily married

So when Selina hit Jack it was acceptable (even encouraged, he had it coming etc...), yet Andrew is a scum/mongrel etc... for hitting Donna? What exactly is the difference? Or is it just gender double standards yet again?

The show is on top form at this stage, I'm really addicted to it. It's very well written and each episode is constructed with a decent balance of drama and emotion with lots of real life goings-on in between. I enjoy the screen time of all of the characters/storylines and the overall 'tone'. It's pure escapism TV.

Except Claudia/Laura was on a six-week contract and Shane/Curtis had probably signed for another year... How would that have worked?
