Except Claudia/Laura was on a six-week contract and Shane/Curtis had probably signed for another year... How would that have worked?

Yes, you have a valid point there CaptainHulk. I wish I knew the circumstances under why Laura was casted and the storyline written. They could have

ended it happily instead of tragically, and

not make Laura out to be some kind of villain.

As for her accent, why would they want to make her fake it?

Looks like the mysterious door in the Diner is here for good now, but the table is yet to be removed from in front of it.

I like the way H&A are doing the Andrew storyline. He feels like a human being not just a 2 dimensional plot device.

She's Italian (Well, Aussie born with those roots) for reals and speaks it fluently.

It is fake though. You can even hear her real voice when she plays an Aussie character (who mysteriously looks like Laura) in 1996.

I had tears when Angel stood to walk down the aisle. It's been years since I've seen the episode.

I have a question though - Why were Shannon and Curtis not at the wedding? Their absence was noticed.

Yeah I get why Curtis really wasn't there because I've hardly ever seen Shane talk to him and we just didn't see Shannon all day. there was even no mention of her. Thought she may have been at the wedding.

But my 2 gripes were I could not see Rob at the wedding and where was Donna? Surely she had to be there.

It's amazing how you remember things. I remember Jack throwing that cigar and blowing up the van. But I forgot that Sally left the gas on.

Ok the wedding. Yay it's mostly everything I remembered. Angel walking down the aisle and Shane just looking at her so happy. So rapt to see Sarah back and Damien and Selina eyeing each other off. But it's probably the first wedding where neither the bride or groom had any family there. I guess Don is there family but it just would have been nice to bring Nick back. Or even Angel have Dylan there.

Angel was helped down the isle on her feet by Don Fisher. Back then, as I see now, I never saw her "rise out of the wheelchair". And they were seated when they exchanged vows before the priest and were pronounced husband and wife.

It is a shame Nick wasn't at Shane and Angel's wedding

or funeral

I think we've definitely reached another early years 'milestone'. So nostalgic and a real treat to be able to watch all of the build up to this wedding over the past few months. Can't wait for each episode to come.

I feel like this could possibly even be when I started to think of the 'early years' as being over back in the day. Of course in 2016 they're still well and truly 'the early years' of the show, but in the late 90's early 00's I sort of started to think of the show as having moved into it's second era (Golden Era) from this point onward. I'm making sure I enjoy every bit of it.

If I'm totally honest I don't think the show has ever been able to top this era (95-96). I certainly enjoyed subsequent years a lot, but I was never addicted to the show as much as I was during this period. I think it really captured my imagination back then and I feel the same way while watching it all back.

Really enjoyed watching the big wedding, bringing a tear to my eyes as it did watching it the first time all those years ago.  Also loved seeing the old teen crew with Sarah and Damien back together, was a shame tug couldn't make it.

Was that a picture of Sarah's boyfriend she was showing the others?

Spoiler

I thought she ended up marrying tug in the future?

The absences at such big occasions are noticeable, like others have said, Shannon and Curtis, you would have thought Alf would make the effort to be back for the wedding, and Frankie, Shane's mum.....Donna, rob, Dylan, lots MIA

jack is a lucky boy, that was one big blast:huh:

Fisher being drunk was very funny.

Did anyone actually fall for Laura's Italian accent? Don't get me wrong it isn't terrible but you can clearly tell that it's fake. The Aussie comes out here and there even though it is a decent effort.

I agree, I find the over exaggerated and forced accent really irritating.  I don't hear any Italian Australians talking that way.
