1995 Episode Discussion

Curtis and Jack are both dealing with the grief from a tragic event. The funny thing about all this is, I don't disagree with any of them on one level, and I don't disagree that Jack is being a selfish jerk. However I do disagree with the way Alsa was badmouthing Laura right up until she died, not allowing them to have fun, then having to deal with accusations of not living up to her parent-like obligations and responsibilities (which, I have to admit, is also unfair on Alsa).

Of all my years of watching Home And Away, like from the David and Sophie fiasco, the Sophie pregnancy, the Nick, Loo and Ryan thing, and as Captain Hulk keeps reminding me (in a playful fashion I guess) Selina Cook and her high-jinks post-pregnancy (Jesse, Curtis, "mud", etc.), for once I can say the town (well most of it I think) is united in the opinions about the tragedy itself. But when it comes to Laura, I stand by what I say when I say that she is a decent person, not a criminal. Out-of-control maybe, but to her own detriment. In a weird way her suicide (more of a misadventure I'd say, God knows what the verdict of the writers of this storyline was when they wrote it) hurt Curtis as a loved-one but it wasn't meant to hurt those who loved her. Laura was not a malicious person.

I was surprised to see Travis. Didn't realise this was his first episode!

What happened to Laura was horrific and Curtis needs some space. Shane Ammann did a good job of portraying the shock Curtis was going through at the railway track. But I didn't like the writing for the rest of the episode. Curtis shouldn't have been left on his own all day with people banging on the door or barging in and forcing him to talk. He needs space but there also should have been someone there with him, not to talk, but just to keep an eye on him.

I guess Ailsa didn't have much choice what with running the store, the diner, and now Selina's gone and left her in the lurch too. Breakdown imminent!

Shannon annoyed me she couldn't of cared about Laura suddenly when Laura dies she cries.

Jack was been a selfish jerk like he was the only one grieving for Laura

Travis has finally arriveanother person who has been living in Bay but never been mentioned

100% agree with this.

Shannon you didn't even like Laura that much and you cried for her.

Shannon shouldn't off barged in to Ailsa's and pushed Curtis to talk.

Jack in todays episode it was very nice what he did for Sal taking the blame for leaving the gas on. I knew when Michael didn't blow his top he didn't believe Jack. Then Jack had to go and ruin it by being a jerk to Curtis

Mr Fisher has been really nice about Laura's death so far. I sure hope he keeps his temper after Curtis trashes the classroom at the end of today's episode

More than just annoying — he was being very provocative. The way he spoke to Mr Fisher, like ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE ME A DETENTION, Mr Fisher loses it, and tells him to GET OUT! Jack is really pushing his luck! I really hope Curtis hasn't looked the gift horse in the mouth by trashing the classroom like that because Mr Fisher is being very kind so far.

It was nice Jack was going to take the blame for Sally for  leaving the gas on but then he had to ruin it by being a jerk to Curtis which later made Curtis destroy a classroom.

Glad Curtis agreed to go on a night fishing trip with Travis I hope it does him some good.
