Not totally caught up yet but Donna living at the Caravan Park seems totally random. Living in the 'spare room', erm which one would that be??

I know lol. Maybe the mysterious room that Pippa's long forgotten wheelchair bound brother stayed in.

I agree it's random for Donna to be there, but it was getting ridiculous that all her scenes were pretty much in the Diner.

I know she's quite bland but I still don't mind her despite her blandness. I quite liked her role in the Shannon storyline though she did get a bit overbearing with some of the teens when she was constantly in full on shrink mode.

It's horrible seeing Irene and Selina at loggerheads. Can't wait to catch up properly.

Typical as with every teenage pregnancy the strange logic must rule over commonsense. It doesn't matter how much of an impact and cost bringing up children is for a teenager still at school. Rationality flies right out the window. Selina Cook insists on keeping this unplanned pregnancy. (it is unplanned isn't it I mean have I missed something?) Furthermore, Irene has the gall to be rude to her own son when he tries to talk Selina out of keeping this baby. The question of what precautionary measures, or whether any were taken on that night, seems to be overlooked. Change the subject or just ignore that most important key point and resign yourself to "oh well, Selina's gonna have a baby, we're going to help raise it together, everything will be alright" raa raa raa

(@Dan F I apologise if this post comes across as offensive. I note your warning the other day, but I feel this question raised in the Home And Away storyline needs to be addressed. I am not doing this to get people's backs up)

Well Captain Hulk. We've reached the first episode where I start hating Selina for real (and Irene also becomes a loathsome character and it will be a long time before I can like her again). My God........the way she ranted and raved about Selina "carrying her grandchild", being ignorant of Damian's other needs in life (quite a turnaround from when she told Selina to leave him alone to get on with his university).:angry:

and Selina's justification — "I am carrying a life inside me. I am giving something a life. It's a wonderful feeling". I really really have to shake my head. Seriously!

Mr Fisher telling Shannon the school has a perfectly adequate sex education program. Have you ever heard anything more ridiculous?

At the end of this episode, Selina admits to Shannon she can't have a perfect life with she and Damian bringing up the baby and living happily ever after. That's right! Life is not like that!

So, caught up on about six weeks' worth of episodes up to 1676.Well, Shane and Angel got married, as I think we all knew. The wedding episode's pretty familiar by now but still decent, if not well attended. At least we got an explanation for Nick and Ros' non-attendance, Frankie really does seem to have been erased from history, with Sarah turning up as bridesmaid instead without any explanation.(And yes, she's got that uni boyfriend who will be quietly forgotten about in a decade when the show seems to forget she and Tug broke up.)She stuck around longer than I remembered actually...and gave us one last Darah moment.Shane and Angel seemed to be on heat for a bit there, with every scene involving them going to and from the bedroom or planning their next session, although they've calmed down a bit now.Angel's stick seems to be coming and going, sometimes she has it, sometimes she's hobbling about without it. Don seems to have a huge dose of empty nest syndrome which he's now taking out on the students in what's verging on an abuse of power. His keeping the class in was made rather silly by the fact that Jack was in the class but not in those kept back and it seems naïve of him to suggest adults don't steal.

Ah yes, Laura. She seemed to go psycho rather quickly, turning Curtis into a jerk for a bit and simultaneously turning Shannon into a goody two-shoes, although she seems to have regained her fire now.Ironically after being a bit one-note for a while, Laura did seem to mellow a bit and begin to realise how destructive her attitude towards life was...but in the end it was too late.As mentioned elsewhere, cut from the ITV showings, although ironically we did see a bit of it in flashback in 1997.Marcus didn't seem Shannon's type but I guess that was the point, that he was someone safe for her to ease her way back into the dating game...but then it fizzled out absurdly quickly.I'm veering back and forth on my sympathy for Curtis, but I take the point that it's not just losing Laura, it's the fact he saw her die.Jack was a bit of a jerk and seemed to snap from apologising to Shannon and admitting he was wrong about Curtis to hating him again very abruptly...did it really just take having to do a shift at the store? But fair play to him, he's been a good friend since.Nice to see Pippa getting involved too.Travis is a very likable addition, even if he does seem a bit old to be sneaking around Ailsa's house with Jack.

1668: After nearly three years watching the show, I think that was the first time I'd ever heard Sally's surname mentioned. It had slowly dawned on me around that time that I had no idea what it was.Ailsa also says Alf is 47, implying a 1947/1948 birth.Try factoring that one into continuity.

Andrew.Hmm.Well, it's oddly similar to the Dylan/Kat storyline from this year

except instead of a siege, it ends with one of those musical montages that they're a bit too fond of during this period.

And it's similarly reaching the point where Donna needs her head examining. It's odd, Andrew started off seeming deluded and almost unstable, unable to comprehend why Donna didn't like him anymore. But then he seemed to turn into a decent bloke and actually did some good, helping Jack and Selina and being there for Irene when she was ill.But since he's got his own way and Donna's fallen for him again...I don't know, maybe I'm viewing it with hindsight.I seem to remember I liked him first time round but my mum thought he was horrible, and watching it with adult eyes he does seem smug, manipulative and possessive. He seemed to deliberately provoke Rob into taking a swing at him in order to discredit him, and he was positively bristling when he found out Donna was friends with Travis.Of course, Rob hasn't come across particularly well either and became increasingly irrational, so it's a relief that he's finally realised that it's Donna's decision and backed off.

Selina was a brat over the jeans and I've got no idea what she was thinking, again she seems to veer between complaining about her reputation and doing her best to live up to it. Irene then became the irrational one with her attempt to keep Selina and Damian apart, which really did feel like she thinks Selina's too dumb to keep someone like Damian who's destined for greatness interested.Mind you, their hook-up did feel rather ridiculous: They have about two conversations and then they sleep together.I'm increasingly feeling like I liked Damian better when he was a virgin. He seems to have turned into a sleaze who sleeps with a schoolgirl, doesn't bother to use precautions and then moves on to his next conquest and leaves her to deal with the consequences. At the moment, it's very hard to see the difference between him and Brett Macklin.I'm not sure about Irene's "support" of Selina, it feels like she wants to preserve Damian's uni future and play family with Selina and the baby (because, hey, it's not like Selina could ever go to uni).Maybe I'm being a bit hard on her, she did suggest her main fear was Damian and Selina getting married for the wrong reason and it does seem like Selina wants the baby. It's cemented the teens' friendship groups well, especially the bond between Shannon and Selina. It was good to see Sally involved and even Jack's being a good friend.

Shannon's got a real problem with respecting her elders. Or she has problems with authority figures. First it was Alf and now she's disobeying Fisher. He told her not put in the supplement and she goes ahead and does it anyway because she didn't get her way. I agree with Fisher on this.

Selina only wanted to keep the baby because she thought she would live happily ever after with Damian but now since its not going to happen she's going to give it up. How selfish can you be?
