Yeah, that was funny when he did that. It was like they were still back at school!

Selina was a brat over the jeans and I've got no idea what she was thinking, again she seems to veer between complaining about her reputation and doing her best to live up to it. Irene then became the irrational one with her attempt to keep Selina and Damian apart, which really did feel like she thinks Selina's too dumb to keep someone like Damian who's destined for greatness interested.Mind you, their hook-up did feel rather ridiculous: They have about two conversations and then they sleep together.I'm increasingly feeling like I liked Damian better when he was a virgin. He seems to have turned into a sleaze who sleeps with a schoolgirl, doesn't bother to use precautions and then moves on to his next conquest and leaves her to deal with the consequences. At the moment, it's very hard to see the difference between him and Brett Macklin.I'm not sure about Irene's "support" of Selina, it feels like she wants to preserve Damian's uni future and play family with Selina and the baby (because, hey, it's not like Selina could ever go to uni).Maybe I'm being a bit hard on her, she did suggest her main fear was Damian and Selina getting married for the wrong reason and it does seem like Selina wants the baby. It's cemented the teens' friendship groups well, especially the bond between Shannon and Selina. It was good to see Sally involved and even Jack's being a good friend.

I've actually found Irene quite unlikeable at points during this story. At first she wants to keep Selina from affecting Damian's uni work, but then she later admits to Ailsa in the Diner that she doesn't think Selina's good enough for him. Not those words exactly, but words to that effect. I have found her a bit overbearing at times. She does redeem herself later, saying she will support Selina if she keeps the baby which I totally wasn't expecting. As for Damian, it seems totally out of character to me. I can't believe he wouldn't use precautions. On the other hand it feels very in-character for Selina, very impulsive and never thinking about the consequences of her actions, plus her need for love she might think it's her only chance at keeping a man. I also enjoyed Sally's role in the story. In fact, I think Sally really is coming into her own in 1995. Although she doesn't do much, she seems like a pivotal character and she adds another dynamic to the Selina/Shannon friendship. Jack supporting Selina melted my heart a little. Having said that I have wanted to punch him several times recently, but I can't help loving him despite how much of a jerk he acts. Either way, Daniel Amalm is excellent at playing a hot-headed teenager.

The Andrew/Donna/Rob story is fascinating if bizarre at times. Andrew was so hated and totally redeems himself while Rob manages to make himself in turn look like a psycho. Then Donna has this massive turnaround and decides to move in with Andrew after staying over his for only one night and possibly 2 dates at a push. I definitely agree with Red Ranger that Andrew soon seems to be returning to his old ways, seeming possessive even if it is extremely subtle. What with wanting Donna all to himself reluctant to have a dinner party, then seeming jealous over her friendship with Travis.

Speaking of Travis, I can't say his arrival excited me all that much. At the moment he feels surplus to requirements for me, as we already have Andrew and Rob in that age bracket for the men, it would have been nice to see a 20-something female for Donna to interact with. Regardless, he is liekable enough. Shane's clothing seems to become skimpier (is that a word?) as the season progresses, not complaining though

I feel for Don. I hate the way Angel and Shane are treating him. He's just trying to make their marriage life a bit easier by giving them free stuff. Wish my parents did that for me when I moved out of home.

I really don't like how Shane and Angel have treated Don. He's been so good to them and now they treat him like an inconvenience. A low point was surely when the only time they invited him round was to ask him for 10,000 dollars! However, them moving out has been a turning point for their characters in many ways, I truly feel like we've been on a journey with them.

Considering handing Curtis back to the department was a bit shocking! Pippa was notably silent on the subject when Ailsa mentioned it (I'd like to think she didn't approve!) and I really liked Pippa's conversation about Tom, although I don't think Curtis took much notice. Also, Pippa mentioned that Tom had a heart attack. Is that correct? I thought it was another stroke.

I didn't like Ailsa saying that.

RE Tom being mentioned, I've noticed a lot of small references to past storylines, moreso than in previous seasons and I love it. Such as Tom's death, Damian referencing Sophie's pregnancy when he finds out Selina's pregnant, Shane and Angel talking to Donna about when they broke up because of Shane and Jack's feud, I can't remember what else but I'm sure there have been many more.

And I think this is the last time we see Damian with a sensible haircut.

Sensible?? He looks terrible at the moment  He's a nice-looking lad when he has a sensible haircut, like he did in around 1991/92 from memory.

^ TBF, Shane/Jack feud wasn't the only problem with Shangel, It just didn't help when Shane came off more immature than Jack at times.

True, it's nice to see their past referenced. Can't believe I'm caught up, don't know what to do with myself.

Yet more misandry on behalf of the writers. Angel expects that she should just get Dylan and not Paul, because she is his mother and he is his father. Despite the fact that Paul and his mother have been looking after him all these years and Angel just disappeared from his life. And we the audience are supposed to be on her side??

Wait until you see his dreadlock stage...

Seen 1679 and 1680, so I'm up to date for the first time in months.Shannon's strike was a predictably dismal failure and her constant harping on about freedom of speech and calling everyone a fascist was very annoying. That said, I thought Don twisted the knife a bit too much by giving her a detention, it might have been more diplomatic to just let her resume her place without comment.Curtis comes unstuck with his drinking and Ailsa doesn't even know about the theft, although I'm assuming she'll get a statement at some point. For years I was convinced that that scene in 1680 with Rob waving the boys off was the last time we ever saw him, which clearly isn't the case: It's not even his last scene in the episode!

Andrew seemed to slip back into his original deluded personality for a while there, with his speech about how Donna doesn't need anything but him having Pippa looking around to make sure there's enough exits handy. Now he seems to be "merely" jealous, possessive and manipulative: He clearly only told Donna about Curtis to try and get her to stop spending time with Rob and Travis. There is a hint that he's trying to control the urges, with his taking his temper out on the glass, but he still seems to want the same endgame of having Donna all to himself.

So, after over a year of mentions, we finally meet Paul, who shared his name with a boy I went to school with at the time.I accept there's a slightly dodgy morality in the way that we're expected to side with Shane and Angel just because they're the main characters, but Mrs Harris' tactics and going back on her word do seem to make her out as antagonistic.

He was left in charge a few time in 1989. I remember Alison clicking her fingers at him and saying "waiter!"

i also remember him bossing Carly and Matt around.

Haha. True. The dreadlocks are probably more sensible than that awful bowl he has on his head at the moment.

I can see why Dieter Brummer preferred his early storylines then later ones.

I've been living under a rock but just noticed that 7Plus are now airing TEY episodes! How long has this been going on?? Now I don't have to worry about my PVR radomly not recording episodes.
