Is the ending theme different to the opening. I mean the music. It sounds more dramatic and urgent. Especially in the intro of it in the first few bars? But I can't put my finger musically on what the difference actually is.  The whole song has a totally different feel to the first one which is calm and relaxed.

I've actually noticed that too! I think possibly it's just been mixed differently? The opening definitely sounds more smooth and relaxed somehow. It'd be interesting to know why exactly.

Just finished 1681. I have to say, while I'm not condoning Andrew's behaviour at all, I would also be annoyed if I was Donna's boyfriend and she was constantly (what seemed to be) flirting with both Rob and Travis, seemingly getting off on the fact they both used to fancy her. I'm not sure it was very nice then telling Andrew about the love letter Travis had written her. Then after Rob helped her with the furniture she kissed him goodbye on the lips (I had to rewind to check if I was right seeing that). And I can see why it would look suspicious that all the furnitre ended up remaining in the same place.

I agree with those who have said Ailsa seems uncaring towards Curtis. Considering his girlfriend was just obliterated by a train I'm not sure she'd want to ship him off like that

Although it's nicely setting up Bobby's fridge moment

Yes I've noticed this too. The ending theme is slightly faster (I think) and it's played and sung with a bit more "punch". The opening theme is calmer and more gentle.

1686! Which, according to Volume 2 of my trusty diaries, was shown in the UK on Tuesday 15th August, about three months after Australia. And I missed it because we were spending the night in Minehead on the way to Cornwall, where I ended up watching some of the rest of the week in the hotel lounge (hmm, I can feel the years piling on as I type that sentence) and asking a random girl "Hang on, when did Pippa come back?"Loved the byplay between Michael and Shannon in that storyline, they really felt like a family.

And...THE NASH HOUSE! A set that will stick around for 20 years and which is, incredibly, instantly recognisable here.It really does feel like an old friend. There are some rather contrived reasons for Donna moving in, much of her explanations sound like she's trying to make things more interesting.Angel was wrong to buy the car without Shane agreeing. They'd have been in real trouble if he'd done the same with the car he saw, and she'd have been in trouble if he came home still saying they couldn't afford it.

And Terese Lynch, whose impact is considerably less than the Nash house but is definitely a "Why didn't we have teachers like her at my school?"(Actually we probably did.I probably thought they were too old.) I'd completely forgotten she moved in with Irene, but thinking back it makes sense.Does Don ever hire a teacher who actually agrees with his attitude to discipline? They always seem to be either a lot harder than him or a lot more relaxed, depending which end of the scale he is at the time.(He didn't even seem to realise she was being sarcastic about schools not being there for the students...)

Yes - The Nash House was instantly familiar to me too, Red Ranger.

I'm not too fussed about Teresa Lynch or her son Joe. I never liked them much, back in the day either.

I liked the "Walking Into Doors" montage. I thought it was effective.

Problem is, you couldn't hear anyone talking in any of the scenes it played over, it was like watching that whole first segment with the 'mute' button on.
