No wonder I don't like little sally. The way she spoke to Pippa, the way she is defending Gus. After the rock through the window incident, Pippa needs to give the little brat a damn good belting

THANK YOU! And the way Michael was trying to talk Pippa out of calling the cops? seriously mate? Pippa should have just cracked and told Sally to get out it's obvious Sally isn't interested in the safety of Chris or Sam Gus is a bloody psycho!

I actually agree with you but just this once. If I'd been Pippa, I would have slapped Sally one! The way she talked to Pippa like that. And then Gus goes and throws a rock through the window. He could have hurt Pippa. He's bad news.

I have to admit I did chuckle when Pippa said "I'm telling you for the last time" and Sally retorted "I'm glad it's the last time because I'm fed up hearing it".

Pippa wouldn't have slapped Sally because she knows that it's all hot air. She's becoming a moody 15 year old and is attracted to someone who's paying her attention because she's insecure about herself.

Gus is definitely a bad influence on her, he's encouraging her when she hints that she does what she wants, he makes her feel like an adult who can make her own mind up and yep she's selfishly going along with it.

The way I see it is after being bullied by Joe (making her feel worthless) she's trying to build her confidence again and feel more 'in control', she's just going about it the wrong way.

Let me tell ya somethin' brotha... It's time for the Big Hulking Review! (And for the record I am not a overtly muscled 63yo man whose main claim to fame is dropping legs on his opponents and encouraging kids to say their prayers, take their vitamins, drink their milk, train and believe in themselves )

Seen from 1714-19. Saw 1714 when was repeated on 5* last year

Angel came across as paranoid/slappable. And  Shannon just seemed like a child when she hit her with the bogus lie of sleeping with Shane. I'm surprised slaps weren't traded. But  surely Ms Reed had a clue that a guy who's been married 2 months isn't gonna just toss his wife aside (even though Angel is like 19 going on 40 sometimes with her nagging).  Curtis twisting the knife didn't help but it did in a way... He's known Shannon the longest and knows that the kids at school are gonna be vicious. I was half expecting Sal and Sel to meet each other other on their ways in and out of the girls' bedroom that night, respectively.

Also, Shannon should have let things  rest for a while before seeing Angel at the hospital next day. Am I disturbed to find a wreckage-ravaged Angel kind of Hot-ish?   I find this plane crash (short as) more engaging than the current one on UK screens (not that it isn't high octane).

Anyone else feel Teresa's presence in that scene before Angel and Dylan boarded was kind of a little shoehorned/tacked on?

If Sally had punched Gus as hard as possible, she'd have been redeemed in that scene but he had a point; she had been stupid up to that point but the Stone stunt was the final straw. Gus should have been punched for that alone, Thought Travis was gonna belt him over the hippy crack (but he's been probably been called worse) but at least he should told him "either act right or get the hell outta my house") When I saw Shannon and Sal coming downstairs to investigate scene, I was like "Put on some slippers you dozy cows, there's glass everywhere!" after Pip warned them.  Gus shoulda been tarred, feathered and drummed out of town followed by a literal kick up the backside by Alf!

The Plane Crash was one of those "Tell don't show" manouevers. Glad Jack finally saw fit to stop treating Joe like something he stood in.  Bye, Joe. You will be missed. You were a tosser to Sal but redeemed yourself in the end really well. Had he stayed, He probably would have got up Jack's nose with him and Curtis becoming firm buds, Icing Jack out unintentionally.

Can't say I'm gonna miss Donna as her and Trav's exit is building. She'd come to the end of her natural purpose

Sam showed some intelligence over some of the park labour Shane was doing  (softening up the soil), proof he pays attention!

Ailsa needs to "snap out of it".

That Pipe music when Michael was scouring the bush before finding Milan's dead body was eerily similar to the music when Haydn fell down the mineshaft, Maybe he was on his mind during that search. Poor Maja, Orphaned in a strange country. :(

The Old git O'Reilly. To be fair to him, Mazza is looking kind of nice during this return. :D

Well, that's the Big Hulking Review. This would be the part where I flex while Rock Music blares over the credits.

Though, Everyone has their breaking point. She would have regretted it though.

I've also caught up on the 6 episodes up to 1719! Having seen 1714 last year, I wondered whether in context, having seen Shannon's behaviour, I would find Angel more likable. But nope, Angel's still a cow.She spends treats Shane appallingly because of something that's all in her head (and maybe Shannon's), then decides to make herself feel big by bullying a messed up schoolgirl, then believes an obvious lie and goes around badmouthing the man she claims to love to everyone.Throw in Marilyn being an enabler, filling Angel's head with misandristic nonsense instead of doing the responsible thing and calling Shane, and the overall impression is of Shane's life being stuffed up by a lot of self-absorbed women. At least Angel apologised, even if it doesn't seem to make her a better person.I still can't bring myself to hate Shannon, even though it seems most of the town do, which is probably credit to Isla Fisher for wringing every ounce of empathy.

Of course both Shannon and Angel are going to get worse before they get better...

As I mentioned, ITV trimmed the end of Angel and Shannon's confrontation for some reason, removing Shannon's outburst, meaning UK viewers don't know she said anything until she turned up at Selina's.

Anyone else think the timing of Marilyn moving into the beach house was astonishingly inappropriate?Basically, Irene gives her Teresa's room at a time when Teresa might be dead! I'm shocked that Joe didn't seem to mind.It actually did take a plane crash for Jack to make peace with him, although he was probably heading that way anyway: When Sam's acting more mature than you, you know you're in trouble.I remember Joe's last scene very well, and I hope we get an update on Teresa because it all seemed to be left up in the air.I too wonder if the writers of this year's Olympic Cliffhanger, currently airing in the UK, saw these episodes. The debut of Maja

another character who gives headaches to anyone trying to list Summer Bay House residents.

And Michael being totally lovable with her.

Ailsa says she was "bashed" during the robbery, the most precise description we've had so far.Alf reading her diary was another "What the heck are you playing at?" moment, he was obviously never going to find anything nice, although at least it's led to Ailsa getting proper help.

I agree with alexx's assessment of Sally: Her self-confidence has taken a huge knock and having Gus take an interest in her gave it back.Shame he was a psycho.I like to think it's not so much a case of her not caring about her family, more of her thinking they were wrong about Gus.It did make her rather unlikable at times but thankfully she's come out the other side.Er, until next time. This is pretty much her relationship storyline for the next 5 years (although looking at spoilers for the next few episodes, her next boyfriend is actually one of the better ones...).Gus deserves a bigger comeuppance than a telling off, sadly I don't think we're going to get it.

What on earth was with the random dialogue relating to Barbara and Donald getting a divorce? Wasn't it pretty much assumed (if not outright stated) that they were already divorced? Either way, why suddenly mention it now, when Barbara hasn't been mentioned for years?
