I think it was Red Ranger who pointed out ages ago that Angel and Sally become characters who never share a scene together (after initially having a friendship). The same seems to be true of Sally and Marilyn now. I don't think they have said 2 words to each other since Marilyn's return and I can't think of any occasions in the future when they do...

So Steven has come back and we have not seen him with Sally at all. I mean these are the original siblings and you would have thought we would have seen them be happy to see each other after all these years.

You could tell straight away his heart wasn't in it to be a maths teacher.

Wow that woman that turned up and just expected Angel and hand over her money to invest in some store. What did you expect.

Poor Shannon I get why Pippa showed up but it's still embarrassing. I hope she is on the right track to getting better.

Good point. I'm pretty sure Sally doesn't even get a look-in in the

This sort of thing happened a lot with poor old Sal in the 90s, I'm afraid :( I recall her having barely any scenes with Bobby or Ailsa (both of whom she was pretty tight with in the first couple of seasons) after about 1990. To the point that, by the time Bob died, I wasn't at all surprised that she didn't go to her funeral (nor by her general lack of grief / pre-occupation  with being dumped by Craig). It's as though Kate's scene count reduced so much circa 1990 - 94 (schooling, I assume) that most of her few appearances were with the Rosses, meaning that her other close relationships (Bobby, Maz, Ailsa etc) were simply forgotten in the interim. In fact, the one significant non-family friendship she did have in this time was with Irene but even this was shelved once Selina arrived on the scene (what happened to "Toots"?)!

By the time she was forced (my opinion, it never really felt "right") into the teen gang post-95, the previous closeness to Ailsa, Irene, Marilyn (and Steven) was long-gone...

It was great (for many reasons ^_^) to see him back (although not sure about the new nappy hair do.. :o)

They should have kept Andrew Warren as maths teacher, or at least had the decency to recognise him as a good maths teacher.

Pretty hard with a criminal conviction for DV.

I've actually found on re watching that Sally was a lot more integrated into the teen group than I'd remembered. I think she realistically just sits outside of the Shannon/Selina dynamic and has more of a brotherly relationship with Jack (not really friends with Curtis). I see Sally as more independent and I think it's interesting to watch her going through the teenage years without a best friend her own age (her and Pippa have their own unique bond). I think she and Shannon seem like typical sisters and her friendship with Selina is sweet, it's just not very close.

I've found Shannon blaming Pippa more interesting than the anorexia itself, however the anorexia storyline was a lot more realistic than I'd remembered and quite gritty. Love how Angel was 'forced' to save Shannon - this big rift between the two of them is great to watch.

Really enjoying Bert's storyline!

This is definitely a common theme with Sally, which is slightly jarring given that in later years if an old character came back a reunion scene with Sally in their first episode was almost contractual.I guess at this point they've still got four other original characters (and three other original actors) so Sally's not needed as much to bridge the gaps.I pointed out last season that she and Haydn didn't say a word to each other and were only in the same room once during his fairly lengthy visit. They did make a big deal about her being bridesmaid at Bobby's wedding, and her bond with Steven does resurface towards the end of this stint and even more so during his later reappearances.
