I've actually found on re watching that Sally was a lot more integrated into the teen group than I'd remembered. I think she realistically just sits outside of the Shannon/Selina dynamic and has more of a brotherly relationship with Jack (not really friends with Curtis). I see Sally as more independent and I think it's interesting to watch her going through the teenage years without a best friend her own age (her and Pippa have their own unique bond). I think she and Shannon seem like typical sisters and her friendship with Selina is sweet, it's just not very close.

I've found Shannon blaming Pippa more interesting than the anorexia itself, however the anorexia storyline was a lot more realistic than I'd remembered and quite gritty. Love how Angel was 'forced' to save Shannon - this big rift between the two of them is great to watch.

Really enjoying Bert's storyline!

Great post Alexx. I was about to say the same thing regarding Sally's intergration into the teen group. I definitely remembered it as being a lot more forced but upon rewatch, it's happened quite naturally while still keeping her slightly to the outside. It's just a shame that former relationships like those with Irene, Steven, Marilyn (and Angel) have been lost in the process of making her "one of the gang". Thank goodness her closeness to Pippa is still focused on.

Speaking of which, I liked the focus on Pippa and Sally's relationship through Shannon's eyes, although I felt more could be made of it. Perhaps Pippa could have tried asking the other foster kids how they felt about it, instead of just Sally. Also, while I felt Pippa's explanation was reasonable (that she's known Sally longer and so inevitably feels closer to her but doesn't necessarily love her more than the others), I do think it would have actually been a more interesting development for Pippa to realise that she does favour Sally and have extra feelings for her.

I thought that Angel saving Shannon would have sparked a reunion between the two, which often happens in soaps during situations like this, so I thought Angel being angry "How dare she force me to save her?" was quite a good twist.

So did Irene start drinking because Mud left or did Mud leave because Irene was an alcoholic? Because we have always been told it was the former but now it seems it was the latter.

The other mix up I believe comes in 2001 when Donald tells Seb he was only child.
