The hypocrisy and double-standards when it comes to Selina are downright astounding. One episode after playing her role in hounding and humiliating Irene's ex-husband from Summer Bay without so much as giving him the benefit of a hearing, let alone take him to counselling or mediation sessions, asking why he was so horny around Selina, Irene is skyting on about how "wonderfully mature" Selina is — so much so that she has given her and Curtis the green light to do what she likes and treat the Beach House as their own private brothel.

You do make my day, Old H&A Fan

Um not sure how you can say that Selina humiliated Mud. When it comes down to it an older man who should have known better preyed on a teenage girl. But I do wonder what the writers thought when they would write Selina's storylines. She had a few interesting ones including the big one in the future with the cult.

But it seems that things happen then get forgotten. I mean a few weeks ago  Maja went home and from then no one mentioned her, Bert moves into his retirement home and we see Pippa and Michael visit him for a day and haven't heard about him since, no follows up about Chloe and we haven't seen Jack and yesterday we had 2 massive stories.

Shannon saving Dylan and Pippa just goes on about doing the washing in todays episode. No mention of it. I mean she has just been through the whole anorexia storyline and after yesterday you would think Pippa would be a bit worried.  And do we eventually finds out what happens to Paul? But in a small town you would have thought people would see how Angel was, she was the one tied up. I know she had other things on her mind but you would have thought the next day you still would have been shaken up by it.

Irene just went about her day and laughing about. She looked more heartbroken when she found out about O'Reilly. Poor Irene she never had the luck with men, even in the current storylines.

Poor Dylan and they were massive scenes to play. Poor Angel holding her son in tears while Shane sitting outside just looking shocked.

I agree with all of the above. I remember around 2005 (Daniel Bennett era) a lot of criticism surrounding storylines ending suddenly with no follow-through, but these episodes in 1995 aren't much better. Angel seems to be perfectly cured of her spinal injury now, no mentions of physio and nobody was remotely concerned about it when she was in that plane crash. But Friday's episode in particular - you are right, it was almost like it was missing a "2 weeks later" caption at the start. Everybody seems to have moved on from events that only happened yesterday. Steven and Marilyn were also acting like a lot more than one brief peck on the lips had taken place

I also agree with the scene of Angel holding Dylan while weeping and Shane sitting outside the door. Powerful scene.

When do the cult episodes begin with Saul and Selina, this is when I began watching Home and Away so many years ago at the age of 8 !

How can I say Selina humiliated "mud"? Let me explain.....

Alright, I may be wrong if I said Selina (by herself) humiliated him.

But what would you call the way Irene set him up, with Marilyn's help (and yes with Selina as accessory), then told him to pack his bags "in 10 minutes before I call the cops" and to snarl "you are the lowest of life's scum". I'd say that would be very humiliating. And the way Alf ranted in the Diner about how he'd like to "paste" him. Oh and Irene carrying on about "the male of the species" and the other snide, sexist comments about men. So, she hasn't had a lot of luck with men, marrying "mud" whose backstory seemed to be only that he walked out on his family about 10 years ago, which while still wrong, still had nothing to do with the behavioural patterns behind his "harassment" of Selina, and the horny way he grabbed and kissed Irene. Hasn't he ever done that kind of wild stuff before? Also, why was he never shown reading pornographic or girly magazines?

Also, how did Alf know "right from the start" Murdoch was bad news, apart from just walking out on Irene?

Bit behind with viewing, but a nice little bit of foreshadowing with Bert saying Sam had the makings of a young carpenter.... given he'd end up going into an carpentry apprenticeship 7 years later!

The scene with Maz locking Alf/Don in the salon also settles a long running debate about which way round the salon was supposed to be - the chair in the corridor seen from both angles shows it does run parallel to the diner as we thought.

By parallel, do you mean to the right of the front door or behind the Diner? I always get confused as it can mean running in the same direction & running alongside (like a mirror).

To the right of the front door, meaning the studio set is a indeed a bit off as regards to where the front 'window' is - the salon should extend a lot further to the left as we look at it from the fourth wall.
