Skykat Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I've got a month and a half to get from Perth to Sydney by road with as many stops as possible on the way. Is Melbourne where the neighbours set is? What else is good to do there? I think it might end up being one of my short stays enroute Quote
Tasha Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) Quote Jack4martha where's good to go in Sydney? I'm in the process of planning my trip round the world and it includes 3months in Sydney, hopefully working so I was just wondering where the best places to go are? 3 months in Sydney?? Ummm...depends on what you like. If you like beaches, i'd say the Northern Beaches, Manly, Palm Beach, Avalon, places like that. But you want to work here?? Interesting Ummm...the City is great too. Theres a lot of site seeing to do here, Harbour Bridge, which you can climb, Centrepoint Tower, which you can do the skywalk which is when you walk all around the thing and can see really great views, its awesome thoughi havent done it yet , Opera House, Toroga Zoo, the new Wildlife Park next to the Aquarium. And then there are several clubs and places to go, like on Oxford St, great for clubs, HAA stars go to clubs there, well i know Jodi does But yeh, im not sure what your into, so yeh. But thats all the cool places that i know off in Sydney Quote What else is good to do there? I think it might end up being one of my short stays enroute The Great Ocean Drive in Victoria is really good, you get to see all those pinnacles, its really pretty, though i havent done it, but ive heard it nice. If your in Melbourne, go to Crowne Casino (if your over 18) its heaps fun. For shopping go to Chapel St and Chadstone and Toorak Rd and Bridge St/Rd (cant remember) And Amir, Sydney is heaps entertaining, i love it, never gotten sick of it, and have lived here my whole life. I love Sydney, my fav place in the world Edited October 11, 2006 by jack4martha Quote
Drew Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Hmm. Well Wonderlands closed so no where Hmm... Launa Park. Manly or Palm beach... Hmm. I'm not to quite sure Quote
Skykat Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I'm into anything! Probably looking to get a bar job because I've done it before. I've joined a work australia programme which will get me a job. The skywalk sounds cool, I have a huge love of dangerous activities. There's a few really good dropzones around Sydney so I'll be spending a bit of time there. The beaches are planned for when I leave Sydney and travel up the coast. I have three months then to get up to Cairns to catch my flight to New Zealand so I'll probably do them on the way. Quote
Tasha Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) If you want Bars, Oxford St will be good, lots of Bars there You should at least visit Palm Beach while your here, you can see when Home and Away is filmed Edited October 11, 2006 by jack4martha Quote
Skykat Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I've read about the coastal road, it sounds gorgeous. My friend lives in Perth and I'm going to transfer some money to her so she can buy me a travel camper van before I get there. Then I'll just be driving down the coast, living in the van and stopping wherever I can! I can't wait. We have an Oxford Street in London I think but that's shopping more than bars. (Not that I'd ever know having never been to London). I'll be spending christmas and New Year in Sydney, that's going to be wierd. Quote
Tasha Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Aww...New Years in Sydney is awesome. You'll have heaps of fun. Go to the city for the fireworks. I love it. Havent had a Sydney New Years in 5years, so this year we're spending it here. So much fun. The fireworks are probs the best in the world, IMO (obviously ) Christmas is fun too, go to Darling Harbour during Xmas, they have fireworks and shows too i think, havent spend Xmas in Sydney for a while either Quote
