aejdude, what subjects are you doing at AS?

Psychology, Chemistry, Biology & IT.

Chem and Bio are hard, they need you to do constant work every single night after the classes at school really if you want to do well in them.

Chemistry was my favourite subject at GSCE, but i don't like it that much any more at AS, i think it's too hard.

Psychology is really good though, if you like that kind of thing.

With IT, you either have to be good at theory or coursework or both. I like the Theory but not the coursework, but the as level is based more on the theory which is good.

Cool, I've just chosen my options and I'm taking English Literature, Biology, Philosophy&Ethics and Italian. I love Italian so I know I'll be OK in that, but I don't know about the other 3, I guess I'll just have to wait and see how my GCSE results come out this summer....

Boooorrreeeed!

I really enjoy chemistry and was thinking of talking it up for an AS but thanks for warning me. I had a feeling it would be different from how it is a GCSE level. I have chosen to do Psychology as well; I’m really interested in how the mind works etc.

Next year I am doing, Law, Sociology, Psychology and Business.

Cool, I wanted to take Law, but my school don't offer it as an A-Level option, so I've decided to do it with Italian at Uni instead.

ohh, i always wanted to do Italian, but never went around to doing it. but apparently everything that you study at AS/A2 level is repeated at a degree level, so you wont misss out. :)

Yeah, 'cos most Uni's run Italian degrees for people who no nothing about it. I had to choose between Italian or French for GCSE so I took Italian then found I was good at it so I decided to carry on with it. My school is the only school in the Midlands (in the UK) that runs it for GCSE.....I think there's only one other school quite a long way away that offers it
