Jess Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Awww! I think I have an unhealthy obsession with Guiness (not just drinking the stuff, but in general ). My parents have also been to Dublin on their own, well, I can't really go into detail here (Methinks GR is more appropriate) but lets just say they came back with more than a hang-over... I love my lil' brother to bits, but it just doesn't really bear thinking about.....eww......*nasty mental images* So in conclusion, they are never ever ever going to Dublin again on their own! And Cal, just out of interest, do you have a really cool Irish accent?? It's a given rule, that if you come over here, you will get pi**ed! I don't have a big Irish accent. I have a Dublin accent. The North Dub accent is really rough. The south Dublin accent is POSH! The City Center Accent is plain and normal. I have the City Center accent. People say that I have a posh accent....I don't think I do but where I live (in Stoke) the accent is really, really pronounced and quite 'rough' sounding, not that the people there are rough, but the accent is totally un-posh. I go to a 'posh' school, well, people think it is, so I get loads of stick from within my family for being a 'posh toff' But I *love* the Irish accent....it's so.....Irish! Quote
Jess Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 It's not disabling.......I like it....hyperness rocks! It's just infectious, but in a good way! Quote

When you live in a very rural area, you cannot understand the accent! This is my old school, the Poshest you can get! http://www.wesleycollege.ie/ Quote
Cal Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I was a daybie. It was really strict. There was a teacher going around with a ruler measuring the skirts and heels on the girls! Quote
Jess Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I'm a daybie too, but I was a boarder at my old school, but at my school now, the teachers go 'round with rulers.... Quote
Cal Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I hated the school. loved the people! Now hate the people, love the school! Quote
Jess Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I loved my old school, people and school, now I don't really like the school (don't dislike it, I just don't like it), and the people are OK, but we're all girls so they can be right b**ches sometimes Quote
Cal Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I would HATE to go to an all boys school! I get on better with girls because I am really shy around large groups of people(the boys!). The people in my school are so selfish, mean and narrow-minded! Quote
Jess Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I think I get on better with boys as well, girls are just so..well....bitchy! I don't really like the fact that it's all-girls, but I don't have a choice about going there (I think my parents would disown me if I left). Having said that, we do have fun sometimes, we shatter our 'innocent' persona, they do say Catholic Convent school girls are the worst! Quote
