Was the exam important? No, it didn't. It was two exams in one, English literature and phonetics/intonation. The literature professor is about 70, and really set in his way. In one of my essays I made a conclussion based on what I had read and written about, and when he marked it he wrote that he didn't agree with my opinion/interpretation. I had to talk about Phillip Larkin's "Church going", and he kept saying "go on, go on" whenever I paused to think. Phonetics/intonation is my weakest subject, and it didn't go well. I got a question about assimilation, and I know what it is and all, but I couldn't remember all the fancy terms etc. I hope I have passed the written exams in those subjects, so that I have a shot at passing the course all together. I'm sure you did pretty well. I don't even know those subjects! Hope you pass! Quote
