Jess Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Prawns? At Christmas? What about the good ol' fashioned turkey? Quote
Elise Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 In Australia, prawns are the norm! We do have roast turkey, but it is served cold, as we usually don't eat hot foods on boiling hot days! Quote
Jess Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 LOL! For obvious reasons.... It's so funny, in the UK there's like an annual turkey dash and people go to the supermarket on Christmas Eve and get really bad trolley rage trying to get the last super-sized turkey or bag of potatoes. It can get quite angry actually. Quote
Elise Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 We are more like that with gifts than anything. But our biggest prawn sellers are for Christmas and Good Friday! And the occasional cold leg of ham for Chrissy! Quote
-Chris- Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 So who is around & what are you doing??? Quote
Jess Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 (edited) Good Friday? I suppose it's too hot for chocolate Easter eggs in Australia though... Edited June 15, 2006 by jeh-jeh Quote
Elise Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 No, Good Friday, most people won't eat meat, so prawns are big sellers! Easter time, it starts to cool down considerably, so no, we do have easter eggs! Quote
Jess Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Ahhh.....nah, most people eat meat here on Good Friday. I *love* prawns though....and Easter eggs.....but not together of course! Quote
Liz Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Do you know how the tradition of prawns started? It just seems so odd... although the same could be said for turkey, I suppose. Quote
Jess Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 I'm here. I'm just watching (well, listening to, as I can't see the TV) a repeat of yesterday's 'H&A', not very interesting though, just more Believers stuff. I just want everything to be revealed and Tasha to snap out of her funk. What're you up to? Quote
