Mez83
Thats also not true. Unless your parents get the alcohol for you and give it to you somewhere like a restaurant.
Nathan
It's true. It's illegal to buy it underrage but not illegal to drink it. Same goes with smokes (except you don't drink smokes lol).
Andy
The legal drinking age in New Zealand used to be 20.
Nathan
Woah! You know everything You can drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes at ANY age but you can't buy them. If someone gives them to you, it's fine. A police officer told me that haha. And why is Drew randomly staring at the board and not posting?? Haha... sorry. Just an observation
Holly
Really? I'm pretty sure its an offence here to buy anyone underage alcahol. And why is Drew randomly staring at the board and not posting?? Haha... sorry. Just an observation He seems to do that quite a lot, He likes to lurk in the bushes. hehe Actually he's probably away from his computer
Nathan
People prefer you didn't... but you're still allowed. I've had my parents' friends offer me beers and they're really good people (eg. against drugs, bullying, blah blah etc.) Edited March 6, 2006 by fresh_azimiz
Holly
My parents were pretty good with that sort of stuff. They let us have a few alcaholic drinks underage because they knew if we wanted to we'd find someway to drink and at least at home they could supervise and watch what we were drinking. But it didn't mean we could drink all the time.
Nathan
Same with me. My parents reckon I can't be deceiptful and sneak alcohol when they are letting me (on the condition they are with me at the time). And the silence continues lol
Andy
Same with me. My parents reckon I can't be deceiptful and sneak alcohol when they are letting me (on the condition they are with me at the time). Does anyone remember the Today Tonight story from ages ago on underage drinking, where they were saying it is becoming more of a problem because parents give their kids alcohol so they think its normal to drink... Anyway some church lady they interviewed said parents who let their children drink was just the same and as bad as if the parents let their children have sex under their supervision so they wouldn't go out and do it unprotected... Talk about going to extremes to try and prove your point.
Nathan
Yea, that does have some truth to it. But my parents aren't like that... and neither am I. I've never had a drink without my parents knowing ('cept once lol). And I don't want to have sex anytime soon either (while we're on the subject).
