Im 90% sure its the same here in Australia. As far as I know you cant get charged if your both under 16.

You can, its usually the boy that gets charged, but not often, as Police tend to be more lenient if both are under age. If the guy is 14/15 and the girl is like 12 he will get charged. If the girls parents insist the boy can be charged, but the girl needs to make a statement and more often than not she wont.

It's true. It's illegal to buy it underrage but not illegal to drink it. Same goes with smokes (except you don't drink smokes lol).

Actually that's totally false. It's illegal to drink alcohol underage. You get fined $150 for it mate. Unless you're with your parents and they've supplied you with the alcohol. Otherwise the person supplying you with the alcohol gets fined $10,000

Not when you're the one who has to pay it it's not. I'm continually getting abused for asking for peoples ID. But if my names on the wall I'm not talking any chances. I actually don't have $10,000 sitting around just in case.

Oh I completley understand. I was actually suprised that I have never been asked for ID at a bar.

I meant that it was reasonable that they are only allowed alcahol thats given to them by their parents in there presence. Otherwise you could get anyone the legal age to buy it for you.
