Glad you all liked that, I needed them to get close again as friends before Ruby could be ready for a relationship.And yes: I'm now at the stage when I've supposedly been an adult longer than I was a child and I'm still not entirely convinced...

I love writing Nicole/Aden scenes so it was great to be able to do that again.I've had a couple of fictions where they've met up again after his departure but this is the first time when it's been years later and they've both moved on, which gives it a new perspective.

You know, I struggled for a long time over what to do with Xavier.Believe it or not, at one point he was going to be married to Georgina Watson: She was his mentor when he first joined the police, the age difference isn't that great, it could have worked. But then Mink kind of coughed loudly at me and I went "Doh! Of course."

God, you can't even go to remotest Cambodia to escape the former residents of Summer Bay! lol!  I don't remember Alf being that fond of Melody? (but that might just be my swiss cheese memory) Those two were pretty much made for each other so I'm glad you put them together in the end (Edit: Geoff and Melody, I mean... not Alf and Melody! ). Loved the little scene with Alf and Roo. Very sweet father daughter moment there (with a good measure of Alf no-nonsence' Stewartism thrown in!) Josh embarrassing Jimmy, like any good dad would do, was very cute too. The first time that Jimmy has had someone to do that, so a milestone for both of them. Sweet that he's enjoying being a dad, even if he does feel like he's just muddling through. And finally, you have done the impossible! Made me like Ash! Even if it's only for one fleeting moment. I liked that scene. Just wondering how many other old and familiar faces are still on their way?

That sure was a long list of people waiting downstairs just goes to show how many characters are in this and everyone isnt back in town yet

Very cool that Geoff has returned to help Alf pass over as to speak and Melody I'm sure she will show up somewhere in the present soon enough

I've had the "Geoff and Melody meet up in Cambodia" idea in my mind pretty much since Geoff left, which is seven and a half years ago now (!), but it was never strong enough for me to make a story out of it (They meet up, they get back together, they're happy, the end).So finally I get to include the highlights in here!(And yes, definitely made for each other.)I may be slightly overstating Alf's fondness for Melody but she did live with him and Miles and I do remember in one of her last episodes when her grandmother had a go at her, Alf was the one that followed her outside and comforted her.Melody is in the house, even if we haven't seen her in the present day yet.

Glad you all liked that, I was worried it was a bit perfunctory but I needed a moment between them and they're not really the types for long speechifying.

Very glad you liked those.I was kind of inspired by some of your earlier comments and realised that Josh getting to know his son had kind of been lost in the mix once the "Everyone and their dog turns up to see Alf" plot kicked in, so they needed an extra moment.And I also realised I'd made Ash and Tori a couple and then given them absolutely no scenes together, so I gave them their moment too.

That was a long list indeed! Summer Bay past and present... I think I've just got one more group of people showing up, unless there's someone I've forgotten.

Cool that she is with Geoff, who I must admit, I missed for a few sentences is the priest. Loved Alf’s comments about last rites.

 

REALLY sweet scene tween Alf and Kanga ……and when you listed ALL the “thousands” of people back in the bay for Alf’s …situation, all I was thinking was, at the end of this there’s going to be “and a partridge in pear tree” [but I’m like that with ALL long lists ….. of anything] !!!!

Well, with all these late-00s characters hanging around, the Melster had to be in there somewhere! Glad you liked Alf's comments to Geoff, grumpy to the last.
