Yes, but the lack of continuity means that The City is not always Sydney specifically  - Shane and Angel went on a date via train but the City is too far for people to commute for work.

So what exactly is in Summer bay?

We know there is some kind of police station - Bob Barnett,

There is a bank- Police escorted Frank to deposit Lance' investment money

There is a hospital- Near enough for Bobby to run to see Alan 

There is a fire Station- 

There is a school

It's confusing because they aren't always consistent. Bobby ran to the hospital to see Alan, but usually they need to drive. Hospital staff seem to drive or get the bus to from work.  And the police station is now in Yabbie Creek. Irene and Dani used to drive to uni, but Olivia borrows Irene's car on occasion - she doesn't own one but maybe she also drives Zac's old car

Watching Home and Away as a teenager I never noticed the inconsistency however, watching the older episodes as an adult, the lack of continuity and clarification in some storylines has somewhat  ruined Home and Away for me  I understand, there is a lot to pack into 30 minutes but still...

 

What happened to Bob Barnett and his son?

With the Home and Away 30 year anniversary around the corner, do we have any ideas about which former characters are turning up? Would love to see Narelle.

I hope Frank returns...and not to Roo. It really would be nice for Frank to mention Bobby and finally end their storyline. Or better yet, Nicolle Dickson returns as another character and marries Frank!

Nicole was presumably engaged by the time Craig joined the show.  Greg Benson and Amanda Newman-Phillips were a thing at this point, so  I guess not.

Do we know why Mr Bertrum had a soft spot for Pippa? I don't recall them having many scenes together and I am confused as to how he ended up with physical disabilities.

The Car crash caused by Carly and Bobby (all to spite Lance and Martin who were teasing Bobby for going back to school by taking the handbrake of their van off letting it roll down the hill and smack into Bertram's car, I have to agree with Red, the stunt was poor shot) scrambled his brain a bit and he eventually had an op to get clot off his brain but there was nerve damage that left him lumbering around town like Quasimodo. Walter held Pippa in a high regard ("I have no quarrel with you or your husband, you have the right value. I'm  simply calling to give you my support") Jesus,he was like Dr Claw, Darth Vader and Skeletor rolled one when he spoke on the phone in that garbled voice

Matt was only really ever involved with Carly but it didn't last long.  Narelle and Stevo were a thing for a bit. And Grant and Bobby were only mates (She was separated from Frank and he later went out with Constable Jane Holland)

I don't even know who Constable Jane Holland is ?

The Matt/Carly storyline was really odd and another casualty of the Home and Away writers not taking the time to develop the character relationships. He purchased an expensive dress to take her to the school formal yet they were never really boyfriend and girlfriend. 

I havent watched yet but I read that Steven and Marilyn dated briefly? What an odd couple

1995 when both returned to town within weeks of each other.  It didn't really go anywhere except a few dates. They had completed YR12 together 5 previous (Yes, Mazza went back to SBH to get her HSC at the ripe old age of 22).
