What Are You Celebrating Today? :)

Prefects at our school were usually called nerds. But then the school I went to was known as ****kickers Central :lol:

I am celebrating getting through what I felt would be the hardest part of my Skills for Working Life course. I was working on two units today which were Following Instructions properly & working in a group. Its the group part that freaked me out but I got through and it was very fun. We were making pizzas on a barge. It kinda got messy :blink:

But I'm proud of it. Just a few more units to finish and then I'm done with the course muwah!

It was a strange two hours :blink:

Moving around a small kitchen and making pizza's while ducks kept coming up and quacking. Although we are used to that considering the Connexions barge is right by the baguette barge. Also there were alot of tourists looking in as they went passed cuz me and this other girl were pretty much cackling.

Its an event worth celebrating. Now I can work with others I need to move on to my phone skills. Ya know... try not freaking out whenever it rings :lol:

I don't really understand the Scottish education system... Am I right in presuming that you take exams at the end of this last school year, Ash? If so, are they equivelent to our GCSEs or A Levels?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think

Standard Grades = GCSE's

Highers = AS Levels

Advanced Highers = A Levels

Although, going on what I've heard, the English equivalents tend to be tougher - perhaps why Scots spend an extra year at Uni (4yrs) compared to standard English courses which last 3yrs?

What am I celebrating today? Sleeping my whole morning away and getting up at 2pm? (Well, I was impressed...) :rolleyes:

Couldn't tell you if you're right or not, Claire! Lol!

Liz.. we take exams around about the same time as English kids do. My exams were in May/June. If it helps to work it out, this was the second time that I did like official exams when you get the formal results and everything. The exams I just took were Highers. This year will be my last year at school but I could have left a year ago if I wanted to.

I don't think it would necessarily be fair to say that English courses are harder, I think different is the word.

Oh and Ryan, I'll vouch for what you said! :P
