I've long thought that Spencer and Chris should have been Irene's grandsons. They were about the right age (with maybe just a little bit of SORAS needed). Spencer would have instead been Mark and Chris would have been Paul.

And if it did happen, It'd probably end up like Jack/Paige in Neighbours with the former ditching the priesthood for her (which split the audience).
