I still wasn't entirely convinced with Jasmine and it felt like she was concerned for Dean because she realised it looked really bad her being there just to defend Logan.  OK, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume when Dean got her to see things from his perspective she felt guilty.  I actually didn't think they were friends.  I'm trying to recall the last time they hung out and I'm not sure Dean would want to spend time with someone who is dating a cop.

I do think there is potential for a half decent duo with Ryder and Theo but Chloe is going to be the main obstacle.  Theo is obviously a sore loser given how he brought up that he kissed Chloe which seemed slightly out of spite.

Maybe a touch of Dean jumping on the 'let's have a go at Logan' bandwagon. ?  He's only now just remembered hearing the row between Tori and Logan about the op that may have made all the difference after he heard Marilyn raging at Logan.  There was  no guarantee that would have worked. Nothing is set in stone Logan never said Dean would never surf again.  Right now he's looking at the worst case scenario.  I imagine the board shop doesn't bring in that much  as people wouldn't be buying a new board everyday and although he does have people working for him he's paying out wages, NI or it's equivalent  but as head instructor he can charge more so could be a tidy wedge he's losing cash wise.  Not that is the be all and end all for Dean, it's being able to do what he loves.  Glad Ziggy was able to talk him around as regards how Jai sees him.   I don't think Jasmine went round to fight Logan's corner initially, maybe try and get Dean to see it from a different angle?  He is a good doc so was just fighting his corner.  Dean isn't Jas' patient and he was only in and out so I don't think confidentially was broken?

Bella didn't deserve that from Dean but I guess she's got used to his mood swings over the years.  He's had to put up with hers.  I was wondering why she hadn't thought of going back to TAFE and how's about looking up other photographers on line and see how much they charge or before even thinking of starting your own business with no experience start by working for one who's already established - just  a thought.

Logan is a medical doctor and I think there has always been that rivalry between them and the  mind docs, they have a history of not wanting it to be other than a straight forward medical problem.  They see is a slight on their ability to 'cure' people.   Marilyn, though she has her own, misguided❓,  reasons for not wanting to be treated by Logan is perfectly entitled to have another doctor look after her.   Dr. Singh has arranged for a psych doc to see her.  Maz had got over her anger towards Irene by asking her to stay with her.  She was holding onto her like grim death, similar to how she was with Ryder and keeping Leah up all night.

I'll say this for John, he may come across as a real stickler  for the rules but when he believes in someone he hangs in on there.  His faith in Nik certainly proved him right.  So congrats on getting your bronze Nik, your dad would have been well proud.   Sadly John's not doing so good in drumming up volunteers for his Neighbourhood Watch,  I guess to young folks like Nik and Bella it would seem dull.  Actually who better than someone who has a slightly dodgy rep to give advice to avoid getting robbed, poacher turned gamekeeper if you like,? though the Parata's we know weren't into that stuff.

Theo is still being a right pain in the bum! Has a whinge when Justin lets Ziggy go off to see to Dean and he has to stay and sweep up - what's up the broom getting too heavy for you.   Took some persuading but Ryder finally caved into doing the Fire Walk.  Maybe overthinking but don't they usually have special coals for that kind of stunt?    Ditto here it was Cash's fault  - Ryder and Theo were both in the right head space, if that doesn't sound too hippy, but then he broke their concentration bringing them out of their mindset of not thinking about the heat.  That was way out of order of Theo to bring up the kiss when Ryder kept teasing him - not slightly out of spite - totally out of spite. I know Ryder and Chloe had finished as a couple but only they had only just broken up.  That will not go down well with her.

They do recommend particular types of coal from certain woods, but they're not ones specifically made for firewalking.

It's not really anything to do with mind over matter, but a simple case of physics - if they're set up correctly then walking across them briskly (though NOT running) is all that's needed, as their feet don't make contact long enough in one particular area for the embers to have much chance to transfer heat (they're actually a poor thermal conductor). Cash stopping them in their tracks meant they were stood still long enough in one place to get burnt.

It would have been interesting to see Alf's reaction to that one if he'd been there, considering he'd done it himself in 1998 as CaptainHulk mentioned (and got burnt too, as they both pranced across the coals instead of walking normally), though I imagine Ray himself would be the only one working on the show who remembers Alf doing it anyway...

Spoiler

Of course Alf does end up seeing the video of the firewalk eventually, in several weeks time, but there's no mention of it.

I'm amazed you were able to pull up the pic!

That was one of the best Freeze Frames. Shame they were phased out in 2000.

For me, doing thst challenge, it would have been Fs, Bs, Ss and MFs coming out of my mouth every other step!?

Yep, and that was a dick thing Theo did.

On today's, Matthew hanging around like a bad smell...

The problem persists: We're clearly meant to be on Mia's side, but we haven't really been given enough reason beyond "because Mia's a main character". Okay, sure, what happened the night Chloe was conceived doesn't reflect well on Matthew, but it doesn't necessarily make him an irredeemable monster either, especially if he's been an upstanding citizen for 20 years since. The fact that Mia's treating him the same way she treated Ari when she first turned up, and we're meant to see his historic crimes as forgivable, doesn't help.So really, she is just coming across as controlling rather than having a valid issue. We learn that Matthew saw Mia's picture in the paper but still no clue as to how that told him she had a child the right age to be his without him knowing their name or gender... Also, what was with that ending? Had Ari lured Matthew there somehow or did he just happen to come across him?

Well, it's good that Cash has decided to stop trying to keep Tane and Felicity apart.I liked her initial disbelieving reaction to his apparently poor excuse for not getting in touch, then realising he was telling the truth. The kiss...not sure. They've been here before and it's ended badly, so we'll see.

Did I get it right that Theo has uploaded the video of the challenge complete with his revelation? I can't see Chloe being happy about him literally sharing that one with the world. He's probably lucky she's got other things on her mind.

These challenges with Theo and Ryder are beyond silly especially when they get to choose the winners surely that should be a YouTube poll for the viewers Quite a boring challenge though fire walking and they didn’t really get that far

Ryder is right they aren’t mates so I don’t really know why they do it you don’t quickly make money that fast on YouTube

I can’t help it but I think Matthew is truly trying his hardest to make it up to Chloe Mia is being the pain here in my opinion

I dunno.  It feels like they initially put Felicity and Tane together as a one night stand but someone thought they should be a couple.  They couldn't have them just get back together as it wouldn't have been plausible so Anne gets introduced into the equation, vindicates Felicity from being obsessed with Tane and allows Felicity and Tane to effectively bond.  I do actually want them together and I think it makes sense as they both don't spend too much time socialising with people outside their family, but I don't want it to be simply physical with them just jumping into bed.  I want to see something emotional.  When they first met each other in yesterday's episode at Salt, I got the impression that it was radio silence from Tane although he did seem keen to meet her when he was back home with Ari and Mia and it's not as if he didn't have reception at the trade show as he was gone for a few days, so not quite sure what was going on there.  Despite what I said above, at least there was some effort to engage in actual conversation.  I did find it quite funny when Cash gatecrashed their date, and how the next day he said it was acceptable because Felicity did it to him but I was surprised he was so cool with her about talking to Tane.

I don't like Chloe but objectively, what happened must have been quite a shock.  She initially thought there was a guy hanging around, perhaps stalking her, probably trying to hit on her and then he announces he's her father.  She maybe thinks he was making it up and then finds out her own mother has been lying to her for years.  Not quite sure what to make of Matthew.  On the surface he seems OK and comes across as fairly reasonable but I don't know if there's anything more sinister underneath.  Mixed feelings about Mia.  I'm kind of agree with the comments above and given how she's been portrayed on the show as wonder woman, it's good to see cracks starting to appear.  I thought there might be comeback with her using the stolen money to buy a legitimate business but that seems to have died down (I did think the call she received initially could have been to do with that).  So seeing this is mildly satisfying but the whole lack of consent thing with Matthew throws a spanner in the works.  I think Ari has worked hard to turn his life around and despite everything that has happened is in a fairly good place.  It would be a shame for him to ruin it.

I do vaguely remember those scenes. If Alf and Don were away at some kind of retreat (?) and Ray/Alf is the only one to remember it he's likely to want  it to stay that way.   It was mentioned if Alf had been there he wouldn't have allowed it would he have had had a case of selective amnesia?

Neither Theo or Ryder chose who wins - they timed the first challenge the chilli one - or rather Chloe did.  The cocktail challenge was picked by their viewers.  This last one Justin - after watching it twice - declared Ryder was the winner by one step!

Chloe does have other, much more important - things on her mind, and out of the two of them it would be Ryder who'd understand how she is feeling.

At least there is one of us on her side - don't see the reasoning behind the  that she is  main character?   What happened the night Chloe was conceived is still a matter of who should be believed as regards to what happened.  It is a case of how each of them remembers what happened.  Mia is sure he took her into a bedroom and had sex with her when as she realised after she didn't agree to as she was drunk.  Matthew recalls it different - he helped her into the bedroom to sleep it off and they ended up having sex, he thinks it was consensual as she didn't say no or stop him.  But of course she wasn't able to.  He did seem genuinely shocked when Mia told him her take on that night.

Maybe the accompanying article that went with Mia's photograph just mentioned 'family- in that vague way newspapers sometimes do. ?  It would, to me, have made him think about the child his mother paid her to get rid off.   Mia let it slip he had a daughter when she said Chloe wasn't Ari's daughter when they had that drink at Salt - oops!

Of course as we all knew it would Mia keeping it from Chloe did come back to bit her on the bum. It was, naturally, the age old and boring reason "to protect you". ?  She also kept it from Ari but this time to stop him doing anything stupid.  He was quick to look him up on social media. It was on the creepy side Matthew hanging around like that.  No surprise he knew her name, he could have easily told her, he heard that bloke call out to her the other day.  Not the best way to break such news.  Chloe is an adult not  a young teenager and well savvy enough to work things out for herself in her own time.   Mia has to trust her and not push her into choosing between them.   Though he wasn't when she was conceived  Matthew is now a barrister so is good with words so able to put his twist on it so Chloe has to be careful to be taken in.

Doesn't it always work out that way-  someone backs off and the other person slows down the relationship.  In this case Cash steps back, so Flick and Tane can be friends like other normal folk.  While talking to each other about what they went through is a start they will need to speak to someone who can give an objective opinion and tell them neither of them were to blame for what Anne did.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Cash the local cop?‍♂️ so would know about keeping your home secure more than your friendly local as in locking your doors at night and when you go out right?   If yes why in the name of all that is holy wasn't his van door locked? - Flick just barged in and ordered him out of bed!  Luckily Jas hadn't spent the night.?

Episode count this week:Justin was in four.Oddly, he wasn't credited on Friday despite appearing throughout, and Leah was despite not appearing at all this week.Either someone got very confused or there was a script rewrite and no-one told the credit writer.

Well, at least Ari didn't do anything stupid, although other than "I'm big and scary", he didn't really have any reason for Matthew to listen to him when he ignored Mia. Otherwise, same as before: Mia's coming across as rather controlling, and despite insisting that Matthew contacting Chloe somehow proves something, she's the one who doesn't seem to have any respect for anyone else's wishes.

It does feel like things have deepened a bit between Tane and Felicity. They don't even seem to have slept together, they are actually talking and the hand holding was rather cute.I guess the experience bonded them, hopefully it lasts.A bit of credit to Mackenzie for trying to apologise, although it came across as rather "sorry not sorry", so I did enjoy both her discomfort at seeing Tane and Felicity together and her being on the receiving end of a similar serve from Marilyn.

Talking of whom...Justin is getting quite good at handling her, but her paranoia's in overdrive. It does seem like all the "physical doctors" like Logan and Doctor Singh are pretty sure her ongoing symptoms are psychological. And she's finally reached out to Alf...
