I may be the only one, but I'm a huge Marissa fan, and I'm going to hate seeing her leave. I'm also a Ryan and Marissa shipper at heart, so if they don't tie up those loose ends before she leaves... god, it'll be too painful to watch next season.

My two comforts, Taylor and Caitlin.

I'm not a fan of Marissa as such, but I do think she and Ryan should be together. At least, I haven't seen either of them with anyone else who comes close yet. Lindsay was rubbish, I'm not a fan of Theresa, and although I haven't seen much of Sadie I'm not keen on what I've seen so far. Johnny was appalling towards the end and I found it totally unbelievable that Marissa thought she might be in love with him, when everyone else (the viewers, at least) could see that she blatantly wasn't!

The long and short of it is, I think killing her off is a mistake. The ratings are already falling and then they kill off one of the most important characters? I don't see how they'll come back from that. I also find it unbelievable that she's been trying to get herself fired. Surely if she was that unhappy she'd just leave? She's been acting for a long time, I doubt she'd be that unprofessional. Plus no one would ever hire her again!

From Fanbolt.com one of my spoiler sites.

From In Touch:

The O.C. finale: Someone will die.

When the season finale of The O.C. airs on May 18, viewers will be in for a big surprise: a main character will die! Although Peter Gallagher (Sandy Cohen) has been pegged as the doomed star in some reports, In Touch has learned that Mischa Barton (Marissa Cooper) could be the one leaving. Both have expressed interest in pursuing other opportunities -- Peter wants to return to stage work, having tired of the daily grind of a TV show, while Mischa is reportedly looking for movie roles.

Death scenes for both characters were shot in mid April, but the actors themselves don't even know who will be axed! Producers filmed fice different endings to keep everyone guessing. O.C. publicist Jason Clark refused to comment on the rumors but tells In Touch that viewers will "have to watch The O.C. to find out."

The killing was planned a year ago, and has nothing to do with behavior on the set, adds an insider.

Also,

Question: Is it definitely a man who "hovers near death" on The O.C.? I've heard a lot of rumors about Marissa being killed off. — Madison

Ausiello: Unless I've been royally foiled, yes, it's a man who's placed in the life-or-death situation. And as I told you last week, I, too, have heard those Mischa/Marissa rumors, although I don't believe they're killing her off.

And finally,

Question: I heard that Mischa Barton doesn't want to do Season 4 of The O.C. Is this true? — Natasha

Ausiello: Let's ask Josh Schwartz: "You mean [rumors] that she's been trying to play sick and get out of work? Never happened. She's a professional." And what about next season? "I can't guarantee anyone's coming back."

So only lord knows whats going to happen in the season finale, or whether the series will infact, get another shot with another season.

...I think season four is going ahead. All the interviews i've read, it's definetly going ahead.

I've learned that spoilers can also be "foilers" as in fake spoilers. Maybe Marissa will be killed off at the end of season 4. That makes more sense to me.

I doubt Mischa will stay another year.
