flutterby Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Lol! I will try and be brave with you but it's going to be hard! Hopefully Taylor will stay to lift our spirits! Ooo Ooo Ooo I just had a thought....Luke and Taylor! nah, that would be too weird! The gang of six they got going was the best 4/5 episodes of the entire show, they rocked...remember when they got back from the Rooney gig and Luke had stood too close to the speaker and was shouting?! That was so funny, "DUDE THAT CONCERT DID NOT SUCK AT ALL!" lol. And then freaky oliver was watching them through the window. Angst-free Ryan week was a good idea, if only it had lasted the night. I think we should make it angst-free Ryan season to be honest, I miss happy Ryan! Those writers are twisted I tell you, twisted! *sighs and dreams for season four to be as good as season one* *runs off to get season one boxset* I'm done. p.s sorry not quite done! I agree Ryan needs another soulmate...perhaps Anna?! Afterall she is a female version of Seth lol p.p.s. Sorry nearly done, if they make Kaitlin a main character I will hurl. Julie talked of sending her off to boarding school at the start of Season two at which point she was about twelve. She comes back a year later and she's a 15 year old hussy...so wrong!
sevenpuddings Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 LoL.... I shall post in spoiler brackets... again Luke and Taylor... OMG, what a seriously awesme idea! I mean, there is talk about Ryan/Taylor, but I don't see how that could work. Despite their best efforts, the season was more split up into Seth/Summer/Taylor and Ryan/Marissa time... I just can't see Ryan wanting to be with Taylor. Luke on the other hand, Seriously, I could see that working in a weird way... even if they dont, thats one hell of a fan fic idea! As for Ryan and Anna working, I dunno. I think Ryans new soulmate as to be someone new, someone we don't know, someone who is completely different to Marissa, but somehow holds the good qualities she had! As for Kaitlin, she has already been made a main character. She and Taylor are going to become series regulars. I'm actually a fan of Kaitlin... she had the coolest line in the finale... about Dr Roberts turning her A's into B's... LMAO! I can't wait for her to start at Harbour, shes going to be friends with Lukes twin brothers, which is so amazingly cool, such a great link back to season one. Oh season one, how much I loved you. Although those episodes were ruined by Oliver. Hes so evil! And ruined that time for me.
princess_jessik Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 I don't really mind who the put Ryan just so long as it's not Theresa. They have seriously over-done her and if they bring her back to be with Ryan it will be a very sad sad day imo. Then again not really loving the idea of Ryan/Taylor or Ryan/Anna. If he goes to Berkley I recon he'll probably meet someone there who can be his 'girlfriend'.
sevenpuddings Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 I agree. I never felt it with Ryan and Theresa, and I used to cringe when they were on screen together. Mainly because, as many people on this thread have pointed out, they worked so hard from the first episode to make us believe that Ryan and Marissa were meant to be... I cannot believe that he and Theresa were first everything/best friends... I just can't! Yeah, I'm not a fan of Ryan/Taylor, because shes been there for Seth/Summer the most. I hate to say it, but I'm loving the Taylor/Summer friendship they've got going on. That works for me, and I feel that somehow, Taylor has been the friend Summer always needed. Ryan and Marissa became so wrapped up in this intense thing for three years, that Summer became forgotten at times, so I love that Taylor came, because she'll be someone thats always there for Summer... Squee for Taylor being a series regular! I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that shes not there any more, and I think the first few episodes of the season will either be explosive with drama, to help fans forget about Marissa, or be slow, and maybe we'll actually get to see some of the repercussions of her death. We know that Ryan is no longer living with the Cohens, that Summer has gone to Brown (where no one knows about Seth) and Seth is working (hilariously) at a Comic Book store. Basically, the fab four have been torn apart (much like the beginning of Season Two) and we haven't seen a funeral, its months after her death, so we'll either have to piece together their feelings, how they dealt with her death... or slowly we'll be shown how they didn't deal with it, just shut it out. Either way... I wanted a funeral. Marissa deserved that, even if Mischa didn't!
claire_louise Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Totall agree about the funeral. What are the writers thinking? Ok, so Mischa made things difficult for them by leaving and possibly wasn't the easiest person to work with, but if they're skipping the funeral out of spite it's completely unprofessional. Unfortunately I can't think of any other reason why they'd do such a thing; it just seems blatantly obvious that the viewers will want to see a funeral. If it didn't fit with the timescale they wanted, they could always have done it in flashback style, and still have the new series set several months in the future. On a different note, can anyone tell me why Seth doesn't go to college? I thought he got in to the art school?
flutterby Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 I don't know how much of this needs to be in brackets so all of it will be The writers of the OC are sick twisted people who lost their hearts halfway through season 2! Not giving Marisa a funeral is just wrong, I mean Caleb got one! I love Summer/Taylor, just awesome! Summer needs someone more like herself to hang around with, even though she did make Marisa's character less gloomy at times just the way she said things etc. "DID YOU SPIKE YOUR LATTE?!" brilliant! Is Ryan going to go to Berkley? I think he should otherwise its just going to be back to step one with him. Seth working at the Comic Book store - perfect! My ideas for next season: Season 3 was all a dream apart from Trey leaving and Taylor coming...and actually some other stuff too. Bring back Jimmy Cooper and Hayley Nichol and that's all I can do atm because my Laptop's about to die!
Nathan Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I'm really confused. Is Luke coming back? And as far as I know, Taylor will be on the show permanently in Season 4. Seth mentioned in the last ep of Season 3 that Taylor was allowed to be IN the group with them.
sevenpuddings Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Yeah, Luke is coming back. But as anything to do with Season Four so far are spoilers (until like, Feb next year in Aus at least... and probably late November/early December for the UK as the season doesn't even start in the states until November) everything should be in spoiler brackets so no one gets spoiled. Claire_Louise, Seths application for the art school was too late for the first semester, but they accepted him for the second semester. So basically he'll spend until New Year in Newport and then head over to wherever Brown is to go to the Art School... thus, I see problems in SS future as she's gone and hes not and no one knows him as her boyfriend. Drama drama drama. Taylor and Caitlin (I should really find out how she spells her name) are main characters for season four, but Taylor was supposed to be studying overseas for a year, maybe Marissa's death will have changed her mind and she'll head off to Brown (hopefully) with Summer. Flutterby, I think its safe to put everything in brackets until the season starts. Mainly because, even though its speculation, there are spoilers thrown in there every now and then. As for Ryan not going to Burkely, as far as I know hes not there. Hes not with the Cohens. Hes working and living by himself. But, he and Seth still speak and such, so its better than it was at the end of Season One/beginning of season two. I agree wholeheartedly with your predictions... I mean, come on! Bring back Hot!Trey (and not so evil Trey) and Hayley and Jimmy... awww, Season one, I loved those two together! I miss season one, I should watch those DVD's again soon
claire_louise Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Kaitlin is spelt like that I think. As for Ryan, I imagine that he doesn't go to college because he's so traumatised by Marissa's death.
flutterby Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 So we are deemed to go back to step one then? Where Ryan has no prospects or anything....He will turn into Volcheck (sp?) if we aren't careful. I hope that Sandy and Kirsten regain their unity etc. they have done too much to them and I'd like the writers to just let them be now. At least we can have faith that one character will stay the same throughout, Julie Cooper will never let us down! Mind you after all her attempts to try and get Marisa on her side and to obtain a good relationship with her, she finally manages it and then Marisa dies. oops. I hope they keep her the same outrageous character, she cracks me up. sevenpuddings, I think this is the main area we disagree - I do not want Kaitlin in it at all! I may grow to like her but I doubt it... I mean she gave Seth weed! On that note, as if Seth would ever smoke weed that was stupid. The whole Sandy becoming Caleb thing was stupid too, if you wanted Caleb in it still then don't kill him off! Don't turn the most moral person into him. Anyway I will let someone else have their say now!
