claire_louise Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I actually quite liked the Seth drug storyline. If it had turned into an addiction or he'd taken anything stronger than weed then it would have been out of character and unbelievable (let's hope this doesn't happen in the next series), but I can totally believe that he'd get stoned to cope with the pressure of getting into college. Seth had always been this perfectly behaved, straight A student, and people tend to do stupid things to rebel against that. I also thought it was quite amusing...is that very wrong of me?
Tulip Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I have just begun watching The OC on T4 and I really enjoy it, I'm hooked! I love the Ryan/Marissa partnership and Johnny's death was so sad. I already don't like the character of Sadie and I think she's hiding something; she looks evil. Summer and Seth are so funny, I think they work well together and Adam Brody and Ben McKenzie have a good acting partnership and their chemistry on-screen is great. The too characters work really well together.
summer_bay_rules Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I've only just started watching it because it's on in the mornings and I can't believe what I've been missing out on. I'm completely hooked.

I really liked Sadie she was cool, and I laughed when Johnny died I hated him, his funeral was quite sad though. I agree about the last comment, they are amazing actors. claire_louise, I agree that if Seth had got totally addicted it would have been unbelievable, but I found even what he did out of character and not in a good way!
Nathan Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 ^So did I. I like Sadie.. the actress who plays her (Nikki ??) was in Thirteen
flutterby Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I don't know the actress, but she was pretty good. Usually I hate any character that gets between Ryan and Marisa e.g. Lindsay and Johnny but Sadie was just a breath of fresh air and made happy Ryan come back I like happy Ryan.
claire_louise Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Hmm, can't say I was overly keen on Sadie myself. I don't know what it was but she seemed like she had a real bitchy streak.
sevenpuddings Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I didn't really enjoy Sadie either. But I never enjoyed anyone that came between RM. Except Johnny, because I had a soft spot for Johnny/Kaitlin, I thought that if they'd have been given a chance it would have been cute to see their development. I like that Kaitlin opened up Seth with the weed, which showed us some of his insecurities... and also provided some entertainment. I also like how Kaitlin isn't afraid to speak her mind... and also always manages to get into trouble... I'm really interested to see how she'll be dealing with her sisters death... not that we'll get to see it, not initially anyway (Still bitter about not getting a funeral, or any kind of aftermath!) I have Taylor news. Apparently, in France, she managed to get herself hitched to a French guy (instead of the cool Korean she was dating!) And around episode four, shes back and wanting a divorce, and is using Ryan as a vessel to get said divorce, in proving that she was unfaithful. Now, I don't believe for a second that Ryan/Taylor would happen, but I can just imagine Ryan sitting there brooding and grunting each time he's asked a question... I think that scene could be hilarious, as most of it will be in French! Also, Kaitlin and the Ward twins seem to be striking up a friendship, and they are going to be her little protectors. I can't wait to see if Seth has any Waterpolo player jokes/mockery up his sleve. I'm finding the slides and spoilers for this season making it sound interesting. And I actually am finding myself excited about it. Especially because Ryan goes looking for Trey around episode three (though I'm not sure if he'll find him or not.) I did love Trey... and just, pretend that they didn't ruin his character like they did.
claire_louise Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 I think seeing Trey's reaction to Marissa's death could be fantastic, as it was pretty obvious that he was completely in love with her. Actually I did quite like the Trey/Marissa relationship until he attacked her. The scene where she made him watch The Notebook sticks out as a particularly good one. But I guess it would have meant no going back for Ryan and Marissa if she'd gone out with his brother, and that wouldn't have been a good thing. ETA: Although...what if Trey and Marissa had gotten together, then broken up after a while for whatever reason, and the second half of season 3 could have been about Ryan coming to terms with it and he and Marissa working their way through things. They could have reconciled just as she died, which would have been such a better ending...*sigh*
