The OC

I watched and fell in love with this show from the Pilot. I was reading Ryan/Seth fics an hour after watching and my attention was fully on this show. I found all the characters excellent... except Marissa.

But when Season 2 came on I found it bad. I watched the first couple of episodes and felt a yearning for Luke, which is basically what happened when Season 2 Smallville started and it lacked Whitney. I stayed with The OC up until Jimmy left then I stopped watching.

Also I felt cheated that the only gay storyline they would probably do turned out to be based on Marissa. Was so hoping we would get a Seth confused sexuality storyline that ended with him in the poolhouse with Ryan and making the moves on him

I'll shut up now

I still love the OC and I'm going to stick with it.

I'm sticking with it because they know everything that they did wrong this season and I think Josh Schwartz is going to fix it, especially fix Seth.

Plus, I think they're going to get more Melrose, which was definitely a good soap. I think Americans can do soaps, but The OC got it wrong this season (ie just because something is dramatic doesn't mean it will work, Sandy and Kirsten being an example).

The worst thing was that not a lot happened this season. But next year is their senior year (as if they'd pass as seniors) and that brings the drama, that's not all relationship problems.

They just need to bring in a bitch/bad guy that's not annoying/psycho. That would heat things up. They need a teenage Julie to come between Summer and Marissa. And we need to meet Step-Monster. That's what I reckon.

Just noticed this topic! The OC is my favourite TV show. Yay! :)

I can't believe there are only 4 more episodes left of Season 2 in Australia. I read most of the spilers above and they have got me so excited! Sounds like the best stroylines ever on the show are to come in the next few. :D

'OC's' Gallagher voted sexiest TV dad

Sunday, June 19 2005, 00:43 BST -- by Neil Wilkes

The O.C. star Peter Gallagher has been named the sexiest dad on TV.

The 49-year-old, who plays patriarch Sandy Cohen, came top in the TV Guide poll for Father's Day.

"Dad's aren't sexy when they try to act like their kids - try to be too hip or clever," said OC co-executive producer Stephanie Savage. "But Sandy knows who he is. He is the Steve McQueen of dads."

Also ranking in the top ten were Treat Williams, aka Everwood's Dr. Andy Brown; George Stults of 7th Heaven and Peter Krause, better known as Nate Fisher on Six Feet Under.

The finale was on last night here in Australia, here are my thoughts.

BEST EPISODE EVER!!!

Wow! Throughout the entire episode I was just thinking WOW. The whole episode was just so emotional in so many different ways. Like right throughout the funeral, the Kirsten drinking problem and departure, and the final scenes I just found it really compelling and emotional. I really liked that music that they used too at the funeral and in the final scenes. Was really effective.

I think another aspect I loved was the return of Hayley and Jimmy. It just added something to the episode and just proved my thoughts on the fact that the more past characters from season one they can bring back, the better.

Talk about a cliffhanger too! The final scene with the big fight between Trey and Ryan followed up by the shoot up by Marissa and the slow motion scene was the best moment this show has had in 2 seasons. I don't know what I'm going to do without this show. Argh. Bring on Season 3 ASAP. It has the potential to be the best yet following this finale.
