Dimitri did catch Justin very much by surprise and he was very angry.   Justin was worried Dimitri would take it out on Leah if he reported him.

Roo surprisingly did take advice even if she did hijack Logan's day off, guess that's the penalty of being  a doctor living and working in a small town they are never really off duty.   He sees no problem with it if Martha is able to follow the programme without causing more harm.  If it goes ahead Roo's got to remember to take it at Martha's pace.  It could have been timed better, it did look like they had been waiting to gang up on Martha the moment she walked through the door.  Alf & Roo have such opposing views on it, Alf is being the pessimist, Roo is not wanting to acknowledge anything bad could happen. Martha is trying to get them to see it her way - the middle way.

Finally a decision has been made between Mia and Chloe. Although for them it's sad they have to part, it wouldn't work, they'd both bring up too many bad memories for each other.  Even Chloe's idea to move out wouldn't solve it they'd still bump into each other.   She is going to NZ first and then who knows?  She did look rather flummoxed by it though. Chloe did make the point she had travelled around the world on her own before so could manage alone. When Mia first came to the bay she and Chloe hadn't spoken for ages because of Mia had lied about why she had split with Ari.  Is she keeping her share of the gym or selling it to Tane like she was last time?  Whatever she decides he's going to need someone to help him, he can't run it all by himself.

Bye, Mia, don't let the door hit you on your way out of town. She got a happier exit than she deserved (and I'm not sure why Killer Chloe deserves a fresh start either), but at least it wasn't a completely happy one. Really not sure why the character was ever there: She managed to be spectacularly dull and annoying to go with it.

Alf was being his usual charming self, but to be fair, he does have a point.Logan made it clear that Martha's exercise needed to be supervised by a medical professional, but here she is, going off for long walks without a care in the world.Alf finds it easy to blame Roo, but Martha seemed to be pushing for it just as much. Not sure if we saw Ryder leaving for work when he'd already been there or not, the timescale's all messed up...

Okay, so Mackenzie got her money back, but it feels like this is exactly what Dean was worried about: Her getting in over her head without really understanding the situation. Felicity, who's the closest thing to an expert on deck, looked aghast at Mackenzie's decisions but she's just been blinded by the money.

(Oh, and the new dodgy poker player used to be Angelo's brother!)

Chloe telling Mia she loves her as she leaves but last week told her she can’t stand too be  around  Mia seems very odd and wrong to me especially when she’s writing in her darily she can now move on Mia has gone and forget she killed Matthew and became a very odd stalker for Bella Chloe just seems a huge weirdo too me

Is there a poker tournament called the PK championships on tv sometimes or am I making that up

I don’t know how the set up all those tables and lighting with dealers so quickly or how Flick vets all the players it’s a silly story but it’s entertaining enough

Felicity was right to look into PK but Mackenzie has the blinkers fully on, convincing herself that because no-one's found anything bad about him yet then that means there's nothing to find. She's blinded by the money and the chance of finally being debt free.At least there was some enjoyment to be had in Ryder's cover stories!

Alf apologises to Roo and then blows his top at her again five minutes later...which oddly doesn't get followed up on, with us not seeing them together for the rest of the episode. Rose gets that time-honoured new police officer rite of passage, pulling Alf over for a driving offence.

I did appreciate Tane's little ice-breaking moment with Dean by saying Mia knew he was there for her.

Is it just me that thinks it is daft for Rose to be complaining about how boring policing is in Summer. Bay when Jasmine was involved in like a really big dangerous case with Robbo like some of that must have been in the news

To be fair the Robbo thing was very unusual for something like the bay to be involved in. True they have had the occasional River Boys episode and the odd murder, but mostly it is pretty mundane.  I noticed that about the new cop gets to book a local who the 'old timer' lets off.  Rose, like others have before her, have to learn how it works in the bay.

Roo & Alf having a big bust up in front of Martha is hardly going to help her blood pressure is it! He has agreed to back off but still keeping an eye on how it is going for Martha.

I reckon PK has 'loaned' Nathan the money he owed on condition he got him in the game.  We know it's not high stakes, it's just a bit of fun for the regulars, and none of them but are going to say anything, they'd end up in  the nick, but PK obviously is using it to wangle his way into the more higher risk games either for his own purposes or for others.  Flick's rep is on the line but Mac isn't thinking of that just seeing $ signs.  It has to be an involved process, one of them OK's the next person as it seemed we mostly saw the same folks. Something that seems that easy never is.   Both Flick and Tane looked worried and he I think has come across some dodgy types in his life.  Oh yeh the big game that will pay all of her debts will be the last one - you wanna  bet - ? - sorry. ?

Ryder could have thought of a better reason why Salt was closed - an 18th Birthday Party - really! none of them looked anything like being in their teens!

Mia's departure seemed rather rushed and I may be going against the general tide but I liked her, but her storyline flatlined when Ari died.  We did get one answer Tane signed his part of the handover of her share of the gym.  Once again though she got it wrong about why she came to the bay, she told Chloe it was because of Ari but as Chloe reminded her it was because of her.   A lot of families hate each other one day then tell them they love them the next, well they do in soaps.

Oh yes Chloe putting the final entries in her diary 'saying' it was an end to it.  You do realise it will be found and it will be discovered what she said about everyone otherwise why it was brought up again.

I was pretty much on Rose's side. She was a bit over-officious in running checks on Alf instead of just giving him the ticket and letting him go, but otherwise she was spot-on: Cash let Alf off because he knows him. What if they'd pulled over a stranger who said he was rushing to pick his wife up from hospital? You can't have one rule for your mates and one rule for visitors. I don't think you can call it "instinct" when you're acting on the basis of something you know.So it's a shame that she fell into line and agreed to learn to do things the Summer Bay way, although I did like Jasmine doing the older sister thing...which she was less successful with when it came to Xander!

Nice to get a definitive answer for what happened to Dimitri. Theo seems to be in a bit of a funk still though, and hasn't helped his case by running off instead of telling Justin what's going on.(Again!)

Ryder getting a job as a mixologist (which we know he can do) and being trained as a croupier while he's there seems pretty sensible. Dean wasn't the most sympathetic of sounding boards but just about managed to give him good advice.

Cash hasn't been the only cop to let things go when  a newbie  has come down on  a regular.  As Cash has explained it's different in a small town like the bay, you do get to know the people and if something like Alf did was out of the ordinary for them. He, I believe, came from another small town  unlike Rose who came from the city. It was a lapse for Alf who would normally be under the speed limit and has himself called people those who do flamin' galahs and having ago at the cops for not doing anything about them!  Irene, without knowing anything, put her twopennth in about getting to know the locals. Alf a speed demon though - really!

Xander wasn't actually going to be working at Northern Districts but at Yabby Creek then.  Jasmine did come across a tad pushy assuming he'd naturally get the job because he's so wonderful, and I'm not saying he isn't but she has bigged him up.  Looking at places he and Rose can live, better let Rose have a hand in that you already know what's she like.  Looks like Xander will be doing some paramedicating anyway.

Dimitri was lucky not to get a custodial, hopefully he'll be staying in the city. The after effects have left their mark on Theo though.  He was happy and relaxed when working then he got that call from TAFE to say he'd failed his assignment as he'd forgotten to hand it in.  It must have made him feel that his dad was right and he is a failure and he probably feels he's let Justin down by trusting  him.  Physical scars can heal but the emotional ones Dimitri gave him can be long lasting.  He told Ryder who tried to convince him to tell Justin/Leah but wasn't hearing it.  Not really a confidence so hopefully if Ryder bumps into either of them he'll tell them.  Just as well Rose didn't see him speeding as he'd definitely get a ticket and he's not as well known as Alf.

Wow after what seems for ever Ryder rings his mum,  no-one has mentioned her at all  in the last few years, the cruise ship looks fantastic. Wouldn't hurt to have another string to his bow. Is he going to be interviewed for his mixologist skills?  It looks like a wonderful opportunity for him - if  he doesn't suffer sea sickness.?  Dean may have seemed an unlikely sounding board but he was straight about his answers and not telling Ryder what he thought he needed to hear. Now he's got to break it to Roo, Grumps and Martha.

Alf's episode count this week:Four. Roo was also in four.

I guess we're meant to see his initial behaviour as a front, but Theo having low self-esteem does still seem like a bit of a 180.It's a shame he didn't feel able to confide in Leah, Justin and John, even after hearing Justin saying how disappointed he was that Theo didn't trust them. Dean pointing out that Ziggy isn't exactly a patient tutor unfortunately turned out to be spot-on.Not sure I was keen on Dean being the one to give Theo a talking-to after, but he did a decent job of it.

Jasmine's occasional single-mindedness comes to the fore as she goes pedal to metal to find Xander a job.In the end, the job kind of found them, thanks to them stumbling across what seems to have been a fairly serious car crash.I'm not sure if there's any connection with Logan telling Justin his car needed a service?

I think it's because Theo feels he's letting  Justin, Leah and John down when, unlike his dad,  they have had such faith in him.  Ziggy isn't the most patient of tutors and this is  something she loves and Theo is keen but his confidence needs building.  I don't know if her hovering over him like that would put me at my ease. Dean got it spot on, he knows what it was like as he'd been told he'd never make anything of himself and a lot longer than Theo.

Whoa Jas, back off a tad - pushy or what! Did he say he'd been in MRU??    Xander seemed a bit awkward after Jas left him and Logan but did relax after suggesting a drink.  Nice swapping of life stories between Logan and Xander, think Xand's beat Logan's hands down.  Logan's admission he'd stayed in the bay because of a woman echoed Christian's.  Good spot that about Logan's car needing a service and the crash.
