Is it poor taste for me to say it was kind of the Queen to wait until after Home and Away had been on? Perhaps Her Majesty was a fan. I haven't checked the schedules for tomorrow yet though...

Well, Rose is still asking questions, even if she hasn't quite got all the answers yet.I guess it's not a surprise that "Tex" isn't what his mother called him, although on this show, you never know... Rose doesn't seem to have fully accepted Tex's version of events, given she went straight to Tane to get his side of things.Nikau whined a lot, as usual, although it does seem as though Tane's plan is based more around whose contract has run out than any sort of logic. We got to see Rose learning Jasmine isn't coming back and...that's about it.

Meanwhile, Roo continued to struggle with having nothing to do, until a few well-timed words from Alf put her on the right track.Anyone's guess when she's meant to have given up teaching: I think the last we heard was that she'd reduced her hours.

Why would Xander and Rose want to live there?

For the same reason they wanted to live in Summer Bay?

Not bad taste at all, just the right or wrong timing.  It was due to be on today but programme was changed, I was going to record it on channel 46 at 14.20, but it's been dropped on there too - very odd.  I'll have to watch it on My5 live.  I've just found it on 5star at 6pm - checked it's the right one. ?

But then Rose and Xander don't have any connection with Ian and Wendy and it's in the middle of nowhere.

Talking about Rose, she went out of the door of the flat after Xander told her about Jas then got the call from Tex wearing her uniform, didn't she?? But then, seemingly, she met up with Tex   right away but was wearing a red dress - where/when did she get changed? Then later she changed again into a white top and skirt but again where?  Has she got a handy telephone box?

I'm guessing Tex - aka - Leigh wasn't taking calls from Rose, but he answered Tane's which is why he rang her.  She got Tex's home address from whoever she got his car registration details from but didn't look like she was going to follow it up.    Him having form blew my wild theory about him being an undercover cop out of the water.  Tane certainly wasn't going to give much away was he, but Rose can be an unofficial look out for shady goings on.  Tane didn't know about Nik dumping Bella because she said she was coming home and I can see why he's got the hump that Tane is still dealing with them.

What do we make of Tex's  protestations that he started off pretending he liked Rose but then fell for her - yeh me too.

Xander was hiding his tat, took his cling film off though - bad boy.  I was expecting Rose to gently thump him on his arm and he'd flinch.

I have to say Maz's ideas for Roo to keep busy weren't the best, art isn't really her thing, or rambling around the bush looking at the wildlife.    Trust Alf to find the right thing, has she got any firm ideas of what she'll be tutoring, will she need any qualifications otherwise anyone can say they are a tutor.

Well, let's be honest, she has reduced her hours - big time!?

It's taken a while, but at last Dean has heard the news about Nik breaking up with Bella and he heard it second hand as Emmett told Mac.  Naturally of course he had to go and see Nik and have aggro with him.  John placated Dean, kind of, by telling Dean Nik wasn't overjoyed about it even it was him doing the breakup.  Then Dean heard from Bella she wasn't coming back at all - though it was known Courney Miller had left H&A.  We know why but Nik can't tell Dean why, cos you know who that may involve don't we? RB's and bikies - not a good mix.

Nik had the right grump all that day, squaring up to Tex - not a good idea - though he was riling Nik by calling him kid, I| thought Nik was in his 20's.? He's angry that Tane seems to be rolling over and going along with all the bikies want, but he doesn't know, of course, Tane has got his own agenda going on with Rose and natch the least others know the best it is.  ? Gen - the new bookkeeper - wasn't the friendliest of folk, was she?  So much for fitting into the gym like a normal new employee would so not causing any concerns/doubts with other folk at all.  She certainly upset Flick, I reckon she would have wacked her one if Tane hadn't stopped her and I can't say I would have blamed her.  Tex is suddenly getting very aggressive in his attitude with Tane and Nik and what the hell is all this slo-mo when he, Tane and Nik were facing up to each other.?

Rose is one sharp cookie and one smart cop and played Tex along nicely, not too full on, just the right amount of being careful about not wanting the invisible sarg suspecting anything.    Maybe it's just as well Cash is visiting Jasmine, though as we see he is back next week.   I'm not sure what the protocol is there with him & Flick?  Plus one hell of a lot is going down!   Also, of course, the main man guy gets away - doesn't he always.

Marty - main bikkie - does have a dangerous rep and rap sheet.

Alf's episode count this week:Three.

We're in an awkward situation here where Friday's episode hasn't been broadcast on Channel 5 but it looks as though the powers that be have decided the 5Star broadcast is enough and are just carrying on with the next episode on Monday.I was almost tempted to put this in spoiler tags but I'll settle for saying Don't read this post if you haven't seen the episode that was scheduled for Friday. I did have the presence of mind to record the 5Star showing so...

Given that was the Commonwealth Games cliffhanger in Australia, it was rather low-key: Vaguely reminiscent of the 2016 Olympic Cliffhanger where all the dramatic stuff happened after they came back, perhaps. But anyway, we've got the unlikely combo of Tane and Rose sleuthing away, with Nikau predictably being a loose cannon.Dean didn't come down as hard on him as I was expecting, especially given the amount of attitude Nikau was giving him.Whilst I wish she wasn't heartbroken over Nik, I can deal with Bella staying in New York, especially if Emmett chucks more work in her direction.(A part of me does want to hear she's got a job as a photographer on the ship Ryder's working on though!)

As the news circulates about the break-up, a few nice little moments with Felicity: I'm still getting used to her being a business owner, and obviously she is as well!

I found myself not really caring that Cash got shot I’m sure he will be fine I don’t know where his vest was but hey ho

So, back on Channel 5, at least for the moment. It was actually surprisingly well done given the narrow focus of the episode and the fact we had some of the weaker characters in the mix. Nikau really needs to stop helping and leave it to the grown-ups (he might be in his 20s but he shows why Tex calls him "kid"), although at least he had the sense not to involve Dean: Him charging in would have made things even worse. So, a semi-dramatic showdown, with both Rose and Cash doing a spectacularly bad job of keeping an eye on Marty because it apparently took two of them to arrest Tex. I need to rewatch how many gunshots we heard: Looks like Cash has been shot at least twice and Marty at least once?

Cash turning up in the middle of Rose's investigation to distract himself wasn't, perhaps, the smartest move: He'd have been better off keeping an eye on Felicity. We get a bit more information about Jasmine's decision. I don't think she necessarily loved Robbo more than Cash but the memory of him..? I think in some ways she did care more about him when he was dead than when he was alive and want to hold onto some part of him, so I can buy her wanting to stay somewhere where she feels close to him, if not necessarily the rather abrupt way she's done it.

So, are we to assume Dean's old acquaintance at the police station used to be an officer in Mangrove River? Sadly, she's yet another guest character not credited despite having a fairly large role. (She wasn't even the only one in the episode!) Home and Away seems to be allergic to crediting its guest actors these days apart from a few special cases: Tex is the only one that's been listed for the last two weeks. Even Marty only got credited once or twice in the early days and nothing since.

It has to be said as well that "Ari stole money from bikies and used it to buy the gym" is an absolutely ludicrous sentence that someone really should have said out loud before doing this storyline... Also, a bit odd that when Cash left the police station he was told that people were wondering where he was, but when he turned up at the scene, Rose didn't seem to be expecting him!

Nik was kind of left out of the loop where Tane helping the cops was involved, though of course that would have been the deal, less people knew, even him, the fewer someone could let something slip. Though it did mean he tracked Tane down by using the tracker on Tane's phone and turned up at the bikkies hideout and nearly blowing it.  Nik was wise enough not to say anything to Dean, it was a Parata problem, so it was for them to sort out.  It did look like Dean did try and get hold of a RB contact who hadn't heard of anything.

Real change of mind set for Tane to be more than willing to help the cops, money laundering is something you never get out of under.  He had to think on his feet when Nik turned up and it looked like it could go pear shaped. He's very persuasive isn't he?  In a way it helped Nik didn't know anything so Tane could slap him down in front of Marty and the others.  Finally, after what seemed an eternity Tane got what he and the cops - wanted to hear.  It was a very reasonable argument about Gen, people didn't know anything about her and her attitude was putting people off, not just gym staff, but others.

Tex was still as cocky as ever, flirting with Rose when she was nicking him.

Cash seemed to have been brought up to date very quickly seeing as it looked like he'd only just shown up in the bay. I'm guessing he was hoping to get Flick to go with him quietly to YB nick so he could keep her safe, has he met Felicity?   Even better really, she 'forced' him to nick her so he could throw her in a cell.

I think Jo, that 'new' cop, was an old friend of Dean's, so not a cop back when he knew her, hence her saying Constable Devlin(?).   Amazing isn't it how many drop ins get to see a prisoner for 'just' five minutes.??

Of course, the chief baddie got away, it's the way these things work.  I definitely heard three gunshots Red.  Natch, Tane and Nik had to be arrested along with the others, had to make it look like they were just as guilty.  Will we see the aftermath or have they done their three days?

We did get an explanation of why Jas isn't coming back, her stay at Ian & Wendy's has made her realise she still loves Robbo so maybe she felt being there looking after Wendy made her feel her closer to him.

Beng trivial - but how is the rest of her stuff going to get sent to her and what about her job - she just quits?

I get Sam Frost left suddenly so the writers had to think of something quick to explain Jas' departure.   The writers plan their character's plot lines for months even years ahead, their interaction with other characters and how they fit in.  When an actor/actress leaves suddenly for whatever reason, illness, quitting, getting fired even dying it throws so many things out of kilter.  Having said that, it was a bit lame.

Is it written in the H&A handbook that when a new doc turns up, they can't just walk in and have a calm day but are thrown into a disaster or life or death situation?  Tori hadn't even started at ND when she got involved in the caravan park explosion, Logan got caught up in saving Dean and Mia.  Now it seems the tradition has been carried on with a new face working on Cash.  Christain, I think, was one of the few not to have a dramatic entrance.  Do they alternate sexes too??

Is it wrong I absolutely fell about laughing at Tex's handcuff comment to Rose, naughty boy! ?

A minor detail but I love how they keep working in the Taiaha, nice touch of continuity, also Ethan and Kawa have great chemistry, the petulant look Nik gave Tane when Tane inferred about the punishment. Thinking back to when Tane first came in this whole racket seems as if it would've been up his street, even pre-Bay rather than Ari bu t that's just me.

Yep, all action stations at the hospital with regards Cash.Despite repeated claims he was shot in the chest, it looked more like his shoulder, although the other wound was probably more serious. The fact that we only got to see her being a doctor meant we didn't really get to know Bree in her first episode, although she seems pleasant enough and at least had a bonding moment with Xander.Still seems to be touch and go somewhat at the end.

Felicity was kind of running back and forth between the men in her life.I'm not sure how long Tane and Nikau can keep this up for. There's a very Jekyll-and-Hyde touch to Tex: Not only did he play the nice guy well before, but there seems to be a coldness underneath all that cocky attitude. After my complaint yesterday, Constable Devlin did actually get a credit today! (She told Dean she'd told him to call her Constable Devlin many times in the past, so it definitely sounded like she was a cop last time they met.)

Irene discusses Jasmine's departure but doesn't really tell us anything we don't know, although it's nice that they got to say goodbye, even if it was off-screen.I really hope she at least calls Xander and Rose at some point.
