I think at this point I’d rather them just not address Alf’s absences, between his house, the Surf Club, the Bait Shop, the Blaxland and generally just fishing there’s plenty of reasons for him to not be in a scene. I really don’t think a man nearing 80 would be going to Merimbula and back in under a week.

As long as Alf is stil capable to drive (despite a few accidents and the odd DUI/DWI), what's stopping him?

Leah, I think, said it was nice to see Alf back, so not like he'd been on the Blaxland, as long as he feels he can do that journey why shouldn't he.

Handy wasn't it us seeing the incident with Cash and the bad guy - twice.? It was only after Cash had landed on the guy that he complained Cash was hurting him and Rose told him hold off as he'd cuffed him already.  Cash was pushing it asking Rose to lie for him, she could only tell the board/whoever she was reporting it to what she saw.

I think it was Eden who said Remi may be a flirty Bertie but he'd never go after another man's lady so maybe that's why he's backing off from Bree while still liking her more than just as a friend.  It did seem to get very flirty on both sides at Lyrik's place and it was Remi that cooled it down.  She did say something about her hubby that struck me as odd - he knows what he likes and what he doesn't and says so.   Would that be any man/woman if a guy/gal is married and their other half isn't around? We're not in the 50's.

OK so it wasn't engine oil Ziggy had a reaction to, but the solvent, TPTB did put up a few flags by keep showing it to us, it wasn't that it made her sick but caused her to faint which is definitely not a good idea for a mechanic and someone who is pregnant, she did fall on her front too.  Pity because her new promotion would be very good news otherwise plus a pay rise which will help, just bad timing with Justin getting involved with Lyrik.     Won't be a choice now of putting off telling Justin.

Wasn't that gig at that other place a one off or were that willing to pay more to keep them as semi regulars? Justin shouldn't push Mac too much for paying Lyrik more money.

I'd forgotten Xander nearly had to help a woman give birth and it really pleased him when Bree told him she'd named the baby after him.  Big decision for him to strip off and show his tatts.  Rose seemed to have taken his advice not to keep ringing Cash but then she called him again anyway.

Heather is back tonight then and it looked like John wasn't as taken in by her as it seems everyone else is.

I think Marilyn should just ditch Roo as her friend Roos been awful throughout this Heather story and she can’t be that great of a teacher if she only has one student Alf banning Marilyn from the caravan park doesn’t she like live there

Ziggy for once in didn’t mind her scenes with Tane were good

So Heather meets John properly and (surprise, surprise) they don't get on.  Whilst John was essentially right about her, despite how Marilyn often acts towards him, he clearly thinks very highly of his ex wife and will defend her no matter what.  I did actually feel sorry for Marilyn when Heather lied about the Tarot book as a way of humiliating her.  I could understand why Heather did what she did previously but I feel enough is enough now.  I really want to root for Heather but it's hard when she acts like this.  I don't like Marilyn keeping quiet about her at all and do think the onus should be on her to deal with this properly but the issue I have is that Heather is being very passive aggressive about everything and when she gets angry, she suppresses it and then it just builds up.  I liked it when she called Marilyn out because at least she was being open, honest and direct.  However, when she feels hurt by Marilyn she just seems to get back at her indirectly.  She should have just told her last week she wasn't happy about the keeping everything secret (Yeah I know she wants Marilyn to realise how she's acting).  Part of me feels if she really doesn't like Marilyn then she should just head back home but that's not the case.  You could see last week she obviously wanted some sort of relationship with her mother and for a brief moment she seemed happy at the prospect of getting to know her.  I do think this current scenario will end if the truth about Heather becomes public.  However judging by the end of that episode, the fear is her behaviour will get worse.  Her blood was literally boiling when she overheard John and Marilyn talking about how proud they were of Jett.  And I can understand that.  Jett is being paraded about proudly in public and Heather is effectively a dirty little secret.  You could argue Marilyn should have been more mindful of what she was saying with Heather sitting right there.

I also liked the scenes with Ziggy and Tane and after spending time helping her, the whole he and Felicity want different things has resurfaced, although this time I wonder if it could potentially be more problematic.

I didn't feel sorry for Marilyn at all, as once again Heather had more of a point than the show probably wants her to have.Marilyn is lying to Alf and Roo, but she acts the victim, with her usual little-girl-lost act, because Heather didn't tell the same lie that she did.I was slightly bemused at Heather acting like she'd been caught with her hand in the cookie jar and coming up with a feeble explanation when John asked how she knew about Jett, because the truth is that Roo just blurted the information out to her without any prompting. But I guess she was worried that John would suspect her of sending him the message, which he promptly did.It wasn't particularly smart of him to promptly try to look her up online while knowing she's the other side of an open door though... (I notice Heather's surname has reverted to Fraser in the credits, even though we had another example of it being written as Frazer in the actual episode!) When Heather said she didn't know Marilyn had been married, my response was "Three times. One of them before she had you." After loudly declaring to anyone that mentioned her last week that Heather isn't his girlfriend, Nikau is suddenly declaring he can see a future for them.It seems he's more fond of her when she's actually in the episode!

Ziggy's collapse turned out to not be really important, except as a device for Tane to be allowed into the loop.I was pleased to hear that Ben and Maggie know about the pregnancy, something the show seemed to be shying away from until now.

I'm guessing she's a model tuned actress, that's the usual route for soap eye candy. I think she can actually surf, although the board she was holding was a bit short, anyway looking forward to seeing her in action!

Actually if you check her out I think you'll find she is an actress.

John may not always come across as being the sharpest knife in the drawer but he did catch the change of look on Heather's face and something tweaked his antenna, she was all smiley when she congratulated Marilyn on Jett's good news then it changed when Marilyn went out to ring him.   I admit I was puzzled when John questioned how Heather knew Jett was his and Marilyn's son, I thought he had mentioned that very fact at the Diner?  I think when Roo told Heather Jett was Marilyn's son there was no mention was made that John was his dad?   Heather did seem to take a sudden interest in John after that throw away comment that Marilyn was his ex-wife, he said so as much to Irene when they were having their dinner, nice touch that.  Is Heather hoping to dig up some dirt on Marilyn she can use against her at a later date? John also said Heather was interested in everyone in the bay but no-one knew anything about her - why the big secret?  John did get the correct spelling of her surname, but he should have closed the door.?  She didn't like the fact he was checking up on her.

Gets a bit more heated tonight with that vandalism.

We can make our own minds up about the Heather/Marilyn storyline.

Was it the whole of the Caravan Park Marilyn was banned from or just Heather's van?

Marilyn did say when she told Heather the truth, the reason she wanted to keep it quiet for now was because she wanted to get to know her first before everyone else butted in.

Nik did say last week when Tane was teasing him, Heather wasn't 'his', it was a casual thing, but it did look like he may want more, but does she?  He was another source of info about Marilyn to her.

Very handy Tane turning up at the garage so he could help Ziggy, she was promptly sick so she felt she had to tell him why and he got her home which I guess meant closing the garage again.?  He was very caring which shows what progress they have made since he discovered she was still in love with Dean and broke up with her.   Dean didn't seem at all bothered that Tane was there and thanked him twice.  Dean again made the very valid point Ziggy needs to tell Justin about her pregnancy, how will she explain she can't use the mechanical solvent as it makes her faint.   Another thought isn't Ziggy still Theo's mentor if and when he still turns up?

Good to get a mention of Ben & Maggie - maybe me but was that box open when Dean gave it to Ziggy?  Funny it included ear plugs for Dean as apparently Maggie snored a lot when she was expecting Ziggy.?

Ziggy asked Tane not to say anything about 'the news' yet and a nice conversation about his and Felicity's future and how he sees it.  He's assuming Felicity wants different things but he should have a talk with her.  A very different Tane that we first met - he was kind of a drifter who didn't take things seriously and took things as they came.

I don’t think that’s right.

Sure!

I was surprised how indirect with Felicity Tane was given the chat with Ziggy earlier on in the episode.  Rather than asking what was next for them, he should have just told her he would be looking for marriage/kids in the not too distant future.  But I suspect he was afraid what her answer would be so sort of backed out at the last minute.

I've reserved judgement and I like her but Heather seems slightly unhinged.  I think she was genuinely upset by John and obviously manipulated Marilyn into having a go at him.  She also manipulated her further when she cancelled the tutoring session with Roo.  At least Roo's got another client though because Heather is wasting her time.  She was actually honest with Nikau for a change but she was manipulating him too and only came clean because she was forced into it.  Heather slashing John's tyres isn't good at all but the one saving grace at the moment is at least she hasn't done anything too bad.  I asked myself this shortly after she first turned up but I wonder just how far Heather is prepared to go.  It also seems that people are getting more suspicious.  John knows something is up with her.  Irene was on her side before but seems more neutral after having the chat with John yesterday, Leah doesn't trust her and Nikau was sus until Heather put on the waterworks.  I'm quite surprised Roo hasn't pegged anything at all given the amount of time she's spent with Heather and some of the looks Heather gave Marilyn during their earlier tutoring sessions.  My fear with this storyline is that someone, through no fault of their own is being made out to be the villain and the person who was responsible for this is going to be the victim.

Alf's episode count this week:Three.

I'm beginning to get a bit frustrated at the way Heather's portrayed. They insist on having her give cold/smug/angry looks to camera at every scene, while focusing on Marilyn giving her patented doe-eyed "poor little me" look whenever someone calls her out on her behaviour. The problem is that's pretty much the only way to tell who the show wants us to side with and, sorry, but it's not enough. While Heather shouldn't go around slashing tyres, everything she said was right, whether she meant it or not.Marilyn did abandon her, she is ashamed of her and she is getting her to keep quiet about their relationship. What's more, John is harassing her without any real cause.I found the way he spoke to her in Salt, telling her no-one will ever believe her over Marilyn because she's a stranger when she hasn't really done anything that he's seen and purely on the basis of him inheriting Marilyn's "bad feeling", very uncomfortable viewing.

And I'm wondering why the show is running the storyline like this.If they'd had Marilyn tell her friends the truth and acknowledge Heather as her daughter and genuinely try and make up for her past mistakes, and Heather was still determined to resent her, then you could argue that there was nothing more Marilyn can do. Instead, we've got Marilyn spinning ever more elaborate webs of lies to the people that care about her, and keeping Heather isolated from them in some weird fantasy bubble where she can play mummy without any of the responsibility, and then acting the victim when the people that she's lying to accuse her of lying to them (including giving Irene dirty looks just for telling the truth about where she was). Both Marilyn and Heather are being two-faced with everyone (so I guess it's genetic) but it feels like we're meant to sympathise with one and dislike the other, and not the way round that I'm doing it.

Incidentally, the spelling of Heather's surname changed again on the credits and I should probably stop commenting on it.I did wonder again yesterday, when Roo asked Heather about her application, whether she ever actually sent it:Roo wasn't looking at the screen at the time.

I cringed through Ziggy and Dean's chat about getting married and was relieved that they seemed to put the idea aside: Sorry, but the shadow of Brody continues to hang over the relationship and I remain unable to take them as seriously as we're apparently meant to. So, has Mackenzie abandoned the idea of getting Lyrik back, if she's got Felicity trying to track down replacements?
