I was having the same thought Slade about Heather, there is a lot more going on with her than just a resentment/anger/hatred about Marilyn's 'abandonment' of her, it goes a lot deeper, we don't know as John had said about her recent history, where she was before she came to the bay, she could lie, plenty do, it would stop people wondering.  When she told Roo her 'story' about having to give up her child she didn't class it as abandonment.   I'm sure someone will remind me but did Roo mention to Heather about her giving up Martha? Has Heather paid Roo for any of her tutoring btw?  What happened about this money she was due from her last place, has it turned up yet?  Heather is ducking out of a lot of lessons, but as she doesn't seem to be paying anything, so only Roo losing. An aside but yeh - Roo has another pupil,? will they be paying her actual money?

Going off on a different track why didn't, when Heather realised who Marilyn was, why didn't she call her out on it, instead of the games she's been playing?

OK Marilyn is banned from approaching Heather's van but what an inane comment from Roo when Marilyn mentioned Heather had been in the Diner and she'd served her.?  In case Roo has forgotten Marilyn works there, what is she meant to do, ask someone else to serve her?

Heather does lie or rather tells different truths to different people.  Nik caught her out when she told him she'd been waiting   in the Surf Club for him when John's tyres got slashed, not an easy job as they aren't your usual ones, they look quite sturdy, she'd nipped out to see Marilyn which is why she didn't have an alibi for when it was supposed to have happened.  Now two people know about who Heather is, though neither know that, it was another of those looks when Nik hugged her.

I hope Ziggy buried what she threw up, it wouldn't be the first time people have done that and won't be the last but even so.

I'm guessing Tane didn't want to push Felicity too much, just wanted to sound her out, seeing if maybe if their futures would be long term and together.   They have both come a long way since their first meeting, all the flirting, Tane just coming out of his relationship with Ziggy, the stalker accusations, Flick being accused of poisoning Tane and the gas attack, being kidnapped by Anne, Felicity accepting her dad's death was a suicide. They took it slowly and now they've come to where they are.

:offtopic: I've been meaning to mention - there are loos at the bottom of the stairs in the Surf Club!

So there should be! (I remember Joey going into the wrong Khazi during his first few days in the bay! No labels at the commune, you see?)

Anyhow onto today's...

Plot thickens with Maz/Heather

Nikau is in the mix, well, can't moon after Bella all the time (prob forgot her name at about this point)

I still have yet to see how the timeline of Heather's conception/birth syncs up with Maz/Phil's marriage (which was likely on its knees at this point)

FAO PTB: When you toy w/ established lore, DO THE RESEAAARCH!

And in the previews it looks things will get no better...

Nikau shouldn't have covered for Heather and made a false statement.  You would have thought he would want to steer well clear of the cops given what happened with the Bikers.  I don't think Marilyn should be fessing up for Heather either.  Again difficult because Heather is right about Marilyn.  I also thought Nikau was spot on during his conversation with Marilyn about her not wanting anybody to know about Heather and she knows it.  I actually think it would be better if Heather does get in trouble for slashing John's tyres as she's clearly unstable but it would also get everything out into the open.  I think it's very telling that Marilyn would rather risk getting into trouble with the police for what Heather did than risk the truth about Heather coming out.

I thought there was something about the way Rose looked at Xander after Bree greeted them at the beach which suggested she thought he might be able to score a date with her.  Seems as though Bree's moved on from flirting with Remi to flirting with Xander.  It's OK though as she's married.

Quite enjoyed the interaction with Tane and Dean.  Will be interesting to see Felicity's reaction when he proposes.

Marilyn continues to be the absolute worst. She continues to lie to her friends and everyone else in a way that borders on gaslighting, treats her job like something she only has to do when she feels like it, and continually plays the victim even though she's the one in the wrong. Even when Nikau rightly calls her out on her "I have to lie about her being my daughter so I can get to know her" BS (it would obviously be far easy to get to know Heather if she did it openly, rather than sneaking around meeting her in secret), instead of telling her friends the truth, she tells them another lie.As with her refusing to tell the truth about breaking into Heather's caravan in a police interview, she'd rather people thought her a criminal than know she's a lousy mother who's been lying to them for decades.Of course, Nikau was wrong to give Heather a false alibi, but no doubt he and Marilyn will both get away with their lies, even though he's at least nominally on a good behaviour bond.

(As for how it fits in with her marriage to Phil:She lied. If she was in the outback on her own and pregnant with Heather in early 1995, then she can't have been still married to Philip at the time.Chances are the whole story about him cheating on her and begging her to come back was a lie as well, since we now know Marilyn herself was the one sleeping with a married man.If they were still together, then that would mean she cheated on him.)

Tane's kind of left wandering around talking to random people because Felicity isn't in the episode. The Xander/Rose/Bree stuff was fun in places (Xander and Rose's relaxed, teasing sibling relationship continues to be a highlight) but a bit inconsequential, with the only significant bit being that Bree's marriage still isn't common knowledge.

The whole who let Johns tyres down is getting quite silly now with Marilyn confessing to it again Not that I’m feeling sorry for Marilyn that much but Roo and Alf I’m finding quite annoying

Wasn't the time Nik gave to Rose as him being with Heather, so alibiing her, was when he was at work? Previously when John first accused Heather Nik was outside finishing off his last tasks for the day and Heather was waiting for him, except when she said she'd gone to her van.?   Why did he give that alibi, she did have the grace to look shocked though.

It does look like she takes revenge on someone else after they upset her.  She didn't know Maz had told Leah about who she is.  I do hope Leah calls the cops in and the place gets dusted for prints.

I know you don't agree Red but I believe Maz when she says she wants to know Heather a little better before she tells everyone. She is a good mum to Jett.

Maz was angry with John before when he accused Heather of slashing his tyres just because she was angry with him, without any proof, does the Surf Club not have any CCTV in the car park?  She then accused him of harassment!

But as before when John and Maz have had a bust up they make up and he said he'd always be in her corner like she has been for him.  She stood by him when it was revealed he'd been behind the bush fires which caused her burns.

I am loving the new bromance between Dean and Tane - that soppy grin on Tane's face when they met in SALT left Dean really bemused.  Cheered Nik up when Tane told him he was thinking of proposing to Felicity.  Now I don't know why but TV Times - other TV mags are available - say later this week  "Tane is giddy with anticipation about proposing to Felicity".  Definitely can't see Tane getting 'giddy' about anything.? Does anyone get giddy about anything anymore?

Made a change for Rose and Xander having some light-hearted moments.  Rose promised - again - she'd back off from Cash.  She did get totally the wrong idea about Xander and Bree though.  Who knows if Bree was single she and Xander could be a couple.  There aren't that many single women that we know that Xander could get together with.  It did come as a surprise to Xander Bree was married as she explained before she doesn't wear a ring at work, but she wasn't at work was she?

Xander telling Rose he wants rid of his new tatt, wouldn't that be expensive as well as painful?

Ah yes, the joys of pregnancy hormones, a friend of mine was just like Ziggy in both the sickness and mood swings, husband practically moved into the attic for the first 6 months! I feel for Ziggy in the respect of 'My life is over as I know it', even if the timing was right the enormity of pregnancy and parenthood as a whole is quite overwhelming.

Yesterday's episode seemed to recap quiet a few events and I was expecting something major with Heather.  I was disappointed we didn't get a follow today to the preview yesterday but hopefully tomorrow.

Alf is indeed team Marilyn.  He was very sympathetic towards her despite the fact to his knowledge she slashed John's tyres. John is also very pro Marilyn and I actually wonder if he's still in love with her.  I'll give credit in how astute he's been, knowing that Marilyn is covering for Heather though.  Roo's approach seemed more balanced.  Trying to understand where she is coming from but questioning her about her motives behind what she did.  Although, Marilyn has now resorted to blaming it on her mental health issues.

So I guess this is the beginning of Ziggy being annoying for a little while.  Felt a bit sorry for Dean.

Interesting watching the scenes with Bree and Xander.  I do wonder if she's just naturally flirtatious.  I think the actress is probably one of those people who has chemistry with just about anybody.

Marilyn's gaslighting of her friends continues with her now playing the mental health card to get their sympathy while continuing to treat them like dirt. Despite Irene saying early on that maybe having to face some consequences is what she needs, she soon has everyone glossing over both what she has done and what she hasn't. No doubt if/when the truth comes out, Alf will carry on mollycoddling and enabling her rather than her facing the consequences of what she's done to everyone.I guess this is what happens when viewers complain Marilyn doesn't get any storylines.I'd quite like her to never have one again, but sadly she seems to be a "lifer".

Xander and Rose's relaxed sibling relationship continues to be a highlight: I like that they just seem to enjoy each other's company, complete with teasing and pranking.I guess Bree's like Remi in that she seems to just naturally flirt with everyone.

Dean's on the receiving end of Ziggy's mood swings, which unfortunately just seemed to go on and on all episode and will probably continue into the next one.
