Thank you.

Lyrik's song went down well on the vid though so their fans obviously like cheesy.   I've read the H&A in Aus is ending 28/11/22 on no. 7945 and coming back in Feb 2023 -  no. 7946 so we'll be four weeks behind when they come back?

It ended 28/11/2022 and is returning today the 9/1/2023 for the 35th anniversary . I'm up to date with the Australian episodes so i know what happens so to speak .

I can only assume Morag has died in series for Alf not to get straight on the phone to her to have Marilyn tracked down.

I suppose we must be thankful for Marilyn showing at least some of her original personality by running away.

Yes, we'll be two months behind when we finally get to the 2023 season, since we've got eight weeks of 2022 left.

Where to start? Well, Felicity was back to having a stunned mullet look on her face while being hugged by Tane, after agreeing to the beach wedding. She was well-intentioned in trying to get Cash and Eden talking again, since she didn't really know the full story about the break-up. Once Eden had explained it to her, she probably should have backed off but nope, she's apparently appointed them her wedding planners! A bit odd that she asked Cash to let her get her offer for him to give her away out before saying anything, and then he interrupted her every time she said half a sentence...

Kirby confided in Eden about the text from Bob, but for some reason backed out of telling Theo, all for him to find out by himself by seeing her handily positioned phone.

At the risk of flogging a dead horse, I think a better analogy to Marilyn's parenting than Roo not being responsible for Martha's adopted parents is if Ryder's mum had mistreated him and then when Evan turned up, everyone had just gone "Oh well, it's not your fault, you expected her to look after him." Anyway, I didn't think anyone was too bad here. Alf seemed to have the weight of the world on his shoulders, but even though they want Marilyn back in Summer Bay, they seem to have accepted it's her choice.

Last time I checked Morag was a lawyer, not a private detective? I don't recall her being much use tracking people down in the past?

We'll be more or less the same time scale as we are now then?

Considering how many people both Felicity and Tane know in the bay plus family, she  was expecting a huge crowd to turn up for the Wedding  gong by her plans to throw a big party. Would Tane invite any of his family over and how many would we see, I'm kind of guessing we won't see Mia and Chloe?  Of we will see the usual soap crowd that always turns up for births, weddings and funerals in every soap.  I like Tane's idea of a traditional Maori wedding, I think it would be rather beautiful.  Totally see why she asked Kirby to be her chief bridesmaid or whatever she wanted to call her, seeing as she is her best friend though we had never heard or seen of her before she rocked up with the rest of Lyrik.  Well who else would she ask to walk her down the aisle but Cash!?  Where  did John get the idea he'd be in the running? ?That was a tad, to put it mildly, awkward having Cash and Eden talking  all things weddingy.   Did she arrange the meet before she found out the truth about the break up?  It hasn't been seen yet, but I can see Tane asking Nik to be his best man.

Bit of an update to hear about Marilyn via Cash.  Of course he can't tell them where she is, don't know if it would be breaking any laws if he told them where she is, but it would be breaking her confidence.  She is an adult and he obviously thought she sounded like she didn't need any.   She will need to come back though, to  give a proper statement and when Heather goes to trial she'll have to give evidence.   Alf seemed to be the most bothered because of the way he left it with Marilyn, did she take all of her belongings with her?

Morag may not have been a private detective but she'd have known people who'd knew people. ??

It happened sooner than later then with Kirby's 'secret' texts with Bob coming out.  What harm would it do meeting up with him just the once - DUH!  Even Eden could see the folly in that.  If and it doesn't look like they have any trolls dare say he'd be called Bob.  Good idea of Theo to get the radio progs to submit any questions they want to ask.   Took longer than I thought for Theo see what was going on, Bob adding xx on his messages didn't help matters.  Bob would love that if he could see that row, but I repeat what I said earlier how would Kirby feel if Chloe was texting Theo and arranging to meet up and he didn't say anything? They were both rebounds though so maybe something like this was bound to happen at some point.

Whoops: looks like I missed Monday's episode and posted about today's episode by accident yesterday (which has been moved to the 5Star thread) - so apologies if I inadvertently spoiled anybody. Seems they've started posting the 5Star episodes on My5 before they air on C5, which is going to be really confusing and annoying because I always watch online.

So thought I'd watch Monday's episode today instead, which just proved to me how little you miss when you drop one by accident! Alf being suddenly so irate in today's episode did make a little bit more sense with the extra context, but on the other hand I had to endure even more dull Tane/Felicity wedding chat and a Kirby/Theo song rehearsal that I'd have otherwise dodged completely. You win some, you lose some.

Didn't stop her playing Perry Mason when she pulled up Ailsa doing time at Her Majesty's Pleasure or scouting Ash Nader (know to older people as Toby Mangel V2 in another life), though , did it?

Yeah I agree nothing much seems to happen these days unless you watch them in blocks it’s very slow otherwise

No, although unless I'm remembering wrong, she completely failed to find Ric, Will and especially Kane and Kirsty when she wanted to!

Yes, I noticed My5 were putting episodes up a day early, although to give them their credit, they have labelled them with the dates of the Channel 5 broadcast.Anyway, I found Alf completely out of line, although I suspect what he really wants is to yell at Heather, and because she's not around, he's decided to yell at Cash and insist everything is his fault. I found Alf and Roo completely selfish and, if it wasn't so sad, their insistence on blaming everyone but Marilyn for the choices Marilyn makes would be downright hilarious: They've now decided that they drove her away because they said the wrong things, with the idea that she was determined to leave regardless of what they said (be it attempting to empathise or giving her the gentlest of gentle admonishments) not really sinking in.This is clearly nothing to do with making sure she's all right, since if it was Roo would have turned round and come back as soon as she found out she was (like Marilyn told her to!) or just taken Cash's word for it. No, they want her back in Summer Bay, and given that they're convinced Marilyn can't make a choice without someone forcing her to do it, that means they can disregard what she wants. Marilyn helping out in a soup kitchen isn't the worst thing she could do, although her reasons did seem rather selfish and unhealthy, with her deciding to find someone roughly the same age as Heather in order to be patronisingly nice to. I was kind of hoping the bag thief would get away.

Kirby's outrage at Theo reading her message was kind of deflecting from the real issue. I know Eden seemed to point her in the wrong direction, but she still chose to keep it from him.Anyway, Theo handled it as well as he could, by stressing he had a reason to be upset at her lying to him but also acknowledging that he can't tell her who she can and can't see. Felicity indicates that Lyrik didn't ask permission to include her in their video, even though she implied otherwise last week. (I've a vague recollection of us seeing her give permission before the break but I'm too lazy to go back and check.)

Yep, bit awkward there between Cash and Eden still. Felicity has a point that they need to sort this Unrequited Love Switcheroo out, but also seems to have realised that she can't force it. It was nice that Cash went round to talk to her, although their conclusion that they can't even be friends is a bit sad.

They've labelled them with dates of both broadcasts, actually, which may have been what threw me. If I was watching a week's worth I'd probably have noticed but as it was, I just went onto the latest episode as I always did, and... well, no use crying over spilt milk.

Onto today's episode (I hope!), and I for one am glad Marilyn's come home, even if I wasn't altogether convinced at how quickly Roo managed it. As Alf said, nobody in Summer Bay is whiter than white when it comes to past mistakes - case in point: letting everyone believe Martha was dead and marrying another woman in the meantime - and Marilyn keeping a part of her life secret was not something that adversely impacted any of them, except in ridiculous season-finale-type ways which, love her or loathe her, I think we can probably all agree that she could never have reasonably envisaged. So, she's back where she belongs, but the burning question for me is what will become of Heather now and whether Marilyn will think again about playing a part in her life. Personally, I hope so and that this won't be another wasted opportunity. I found Sloane fairly obnoxious in both this and yesterday's episode to be honest, so it's no wonder parallels were being drawn with Heather; yes, she's probably right about serotonin hits and nobody is truly 100% altruistic, but equally why carp on about it ungratefully if the result is getting a daily hot meal? It's not like handbag theft is especially altruistic, either, though I understand that sometimes needs must. Roo pretty much nailed it when she pointed out that Marilyn's always willing to try and see the best in people, even those who steal her handbag, and yet she isn't willing to be so forgiving to herself. Which comes back to the cripplingly low self-esteem that's always been a hallmark of Marilyn's character, and which leads to so many of her dubious decisions.

Not-so-interesting Ziggy stuff with the obligatory pregnancy false alarm, and the also-obligatory "character X bawls at character Y for perceived failing, then character Y fails to offer the very reasonable explanation for what happened before character X has stormed out" scenario. I guess we can expect Dean's macho subroutine to kick in tomorrow, then. On the plus side, Xander gets to attend a callout without needing to book in a late-night home visit from a tattoo artist.
