Yeah, very odd that Eden got on board with Remi/Bree. I guess there's a limit to what she can do, really, but I definitely don't think she should be supporting it. They're both being stupidly naive and it's so obviously going to end in tears and most likely bloodshed.

Nothing to add as regards the "Day of Kirby".

Gary had been a good addition to the Felicity/Cash/Tane dynamic.  As a kind of outsider he can see things differently.  He worked out what was wrong, hence her getting  a warmer pair of slippers as she had cold feet remark. Seems she is much more like her mum then her dad going by other comments from him.  Flick did come round eventually in her own time, accepted Gary's money after initially not wanting too because of her past behaviour  and a very touching moment when she gave him the invite.  I think Gary misses them being part of his life, especially as his wife has died.  How come poor mum hasn't got a name but dad appears to be Anthony. ?

Did you spot Cash said "What are friends for" when he asked Eden over to his so they are friends again.?   I thought he was looking a bit wistful at her later too.

Would John know Bree's car?

I guess we were meant to take it as read Remi has spent the last couple of days at the motel.  Did he take a change of clothes??    I feel Eden is a bit behind the times, Remi's not 'falling in love' with Bree, he's already there.  Both he and Bree said the same thing to Eden "They couldn't help it".   Eden is just looking out for him, he's  not felt that for any woman before and she doesn't want to see him hurt, physically if Jacob finds out and emotionally if Bree stocks with Jacob.  She did absolutely the right thing by tackling Bree who is now aware that someone cares for Remi to be in his corner.  Bree wouldn't know how to be if Remi is the first guy to make her doubt her marriage and what to do about it.  To her credit Eden didn't give any clues away to Kirby as to who Remi's new lady was.

OK we haven't seen Jacob being abusive on screen but he has as we did see her cut lip and she had bruised ribs, did you skip those scenes?  His behaviour has been pretty threatening too.

Did notice Remi, Kirby, Eden and Theo appeared to be avoiding each other again.  May just be me but it only appears to be Theo and Kirby, Kirby and Eden, Eden and Remi.  Not very often, if at all, it's Remi and Theo or Remi and Kirby.  Both Remi and Theo ducked out of the meeting Kirby and Eden called.  The only time all four are together is when they are playing a gig.

Theo did jump in there without thinking things through.  Doing his latest assignment, having to duck out with talking with Eden and Kirby about  Lyrik's next gig, the stepping up for the golf tournie.  John's getting himself in a tizzy.

I get the strong sense that Xander isn't at all comfortable with seeing Stacey while she's seeing other people, but she in contrast seems very set on it, so I can't see this ever being a match made in heaven, particularly now she's set her sights on another main character. I don't for a minute expect we're going to get three-in-a-bed hijinks on Home and Away - the network would probably spontaneously self-combust at the mere suggestion - but nonetheless it was the most interesting thing happening today.

It seems even when Theo and Kirby have a row it has to turn into something mushy and saccharine by the end of the episode, so a big 'meh' to that. Elsewhere, the old chestnut of "arguing over the baby's surname" rears its inevitable head; I look forward (in the loosest possible sense) to the entirety of next episode being devoted to debating that. Call it Sage Astoni-Thompson whether girl or boy and be done with it, I say. If nothing else the kid will be able to set up a very reputable sounding management consultancy when they're older. Was rejecting 'Hendrix' as an option a side-swipe at Neighbours, perhaps?

Sidenote, but I just noticed today the 'Wapanga Shire Council' logo on Nikau's work shirt. How in 30 years of watching this show have I never been aware of the name of Summer Bay's local authority - or is it a more recent addition to the lore? Presumably Yabbie Creek, Mangrove River, Reefton Lakes etc also fall within Wapanga?

Yep, always been Wapanga from the early years of the show, one of the things that's managed to be consistent! ?

Cheers @Dan F, funny how it's taken me so long to take it on board! I think I've vaguely been wondering what the logo on Nikau's shirt was for weeks now - I was thinking it was maybe a Surf Club sponsor or something - but only got a close-up look at it today.

^ I always thought it the Parish of St James located in the Borough of Northern Districts NSW that encompassed the 4 towns (SB, YC, MR and RL)

I don't know how the administrative hierarchy works in Australia, particularly, but if it's based on that of the UK, then yes, I guess you would have numerous parishes within a principal local authority.

As for Northern Districts, yeah, I always wondered what that was about (although if I remember correctly, the hospital name has oscillated a bit between 'Districts' and 'District', so I was never quite clear on what bearing if any it had on the geography). Does Northern Districts possibly encompass an even wider area than Wapanga shire? Or maybe it's the northern part of Wapanga?

Justin's ageing rock star act was a bit cringey, so I hope that was just a one episode thing.I don't think either Leah or Mackenzie knew where to look.It was good that Ziggy stuck around to help Theo.I wasn't too bothered by his and Kirby's declaration of love.(I think Kirby paid Bob to leave town!) Dean and Ziggy's quandary over what surname to give the baby: I guess it wouldn't even help if they were married, given that couples that get married on this show never seem to share a surname these days. Mackenzie was pretty much a walk-on here but I did enjoy her input on Dean and Ziggy.

Yeah, Xander's clearly not comfortable with having to share Stacey's attention.I don't blame him for giving it a try, but if he's struggling this early, maybe it's time to cut his losses.Given that his friendship with Cash seems to have disappeared since Jasmine left, the show seems to be doing a decent job giving Xander ties with the other young males, as he has more scenes with Dean and Nikau here.

If John knows Gary's car, I imagine he knows Bree's!

No sadly you can’t force someone to commit to you I believed I was a somewhat stud that could get the girl to commit to me but no I came to the conclusion that I must have been just too hot for her to handle

xander should just come to same conclusion

What else I’m not interested in this golf stuff or Dean and Ziggy really

Well, one set he did in a 2021 ep seemed to do it for Leah?.  Hey, hey, He wants to be a Rock Star!

Ironically, Dean/Ziggy is the one thing capturing my attention even if it is a little '"Jeez..." in parts

Xander does feel uneasy about this nonmonogamy with Stacey but he is newbie at it and I think from what Rose has said he's not been in that many relationships. Anyways, OK no problem with her dating other blokes, but wanting to hook up with Nik who may not be bb with Xander, but does know him which to me seems a bit thoughtless of her, Nik felt uncomfortable with it.  Must be plenty of other guys in the bay she could date.

With a little, OK a lot of help from Ziggy Theo finished and sent in his assignment in the nick of time.  Let that teach you Theo get yourself organised.  Dean may have been over protective there with Ziggy, she wasn't doing anything physical but it must have been tiring and she is showing a bit more now.  Apologies on both sides with Kirby and Theo, he took it out on her because he knew he'd cocked up and you do take it out on those closest to you.  Kirkby underestimated how much it  means  to Theo. OK may have been a bit mushy with them but have they really not said the 'l' word before?

Mac did shut down Justin's hopes for doing impromptu gigs at SALT pretty quick after him trying to get a Karake night set up for the Fund Raiser.  Alf, it appeared, wanted  a fishing contest  but got voted down. She was appreciative of him and Theo doing it to make up for the loss of cash after the bands walkout but obviously not keen on a regular gig from him.

Ah the tricky subject of babies names -  Mac made the comment Mckenzie is both a boys and girls name - we do have a male Mackenzie in Emmerdale.   I don't know how it works in Australia with a babies surname, Dean would have to have his on the Birth certificate  but is it a question of whose surname is registered?  Would that take any fatherly rights away from him?  Anyway, Zoe Thompson sounds fine but Zoe Astoni please NO!?  Poor girl, can the imagine the teasing she'd get. Did we ever find out why Ziggy was called Ziggy? I imagine it was after Ziggy Stardust.?
