Skylover Posted August 20, 2022 Report Posted August 20, 2022 I've uploaded and remastered some of the audio for a number of the old opening titles.
Jamie! Posted August 22, 2022 Report Posted August 22, 2022 I have absolutely no recollection of the shots of the characters reacting to the shark in the credits, or of Don throwing the paper aeroplane. They remind me of when they used to occasionally switch the characters round in previous opening credits, like the 95-96 credits where Shane would sometimes appear from the other side, confusing Angel. Thanks for uploading these.
CaptainHulk Posted August 23, 2022 Report Posted August 23, 2022 I always noticed whenever Don's credit partner left he always had a miserable expression!
c120701 Posted August 24, 2022 Report Posted August 24, 2022 The thing that really stands out now in the early versions of this style of credits is how unimportant Sally was deemed, buried somewhere about 5th place with Kate Ritchie’s shot being mostly of the back of her head. What stood out at the time and still does is all the oldies being at the end, which made Edward feel really out of place, although being positioned with Judith made sense.

I think it was more done by households....

In 2000 she had a whole non wedding revolved around her. I’m not sure the credits are in order of importance as a rule.

Skylover Posted January 20, 2023 Author Report Posted January 20, 2023 114 different sets of opening and closing titles in this YouTube playlist I'm compiling now. 1996-2000 and 2008 are complete.

I remember Don throwing the aeroplane, bur certainly not the shark reactions like Don's or Ailsa's!
ter06 Posted January 21, 2023 Report Posted January 21, 2023 Thanks for this, great trip down memory lane! Had a giggle at the 1996 shots after Michael and Shane were removed. Debra is playing the grieving widow in her shot and Melissa is positively beaming in hers!
