Why 1990? Why not longer? Be interesting to double click a bit more on your perspective here...

Because I feel there was not much more they could taken character due to show direction focus on teenagers.

But do think could keep her around until early 1990 and coming to some even level with Bobby.

Do we think Lynn was misused or underused by the writers?

I can see why they axed her - she got sidelined storyline-wise by the older female characters (Carly, Bobby and Roo), and was definitely the least developed of the main Fletcher children. Other than running away early on, she was very much a supporting character for her whole stint.

Lynn was meant to be in Steven's year, but they never really seemed that close or used that other than Lynn playing matchmaker between Steven and Sandra. I feel like her and Sally's closeness/backstory got lost too.

Less than a year after she left, we were introduced to Viv who had a strict religious upbringing. Might have just been a coincidence though.

Diff is Davenports were Catholic, Newton was obvious Protestant/Anglican and was more out and out whacko (no wonder Angela ran away)

But yeah, awfully coincidental.

Come to think of it most of the bible-bashers on this show were either widowed or their other half legged it!

But maybe her presence beyond 1990 would have stopped the show becoming sooooo teen-centric beyond that point?

Episode 14... "New bloke holds the sign" - Sam Barlow. Yep, he's here. Terrific actor Jeff Truman was, I really wish he was in Prisoner, I know the exact character he should have played in Prisoner. He would have pulled it off with flying colours!

It was odd seeing the Summer Bay House half lit during Frank's band practice.

People who have a religious faith tend to be portrayed badly on H&A. Just as an FYI, I was raised as a catholic but don't have any religion nowadays. I still have family, friends and other people in my life who practice their religion to a greater or lesser extent. I have yet to meet anybody who behaves in the way that religious people on H&A do. I'm not saying that there aren't fanatics out there but they're not every religious person. Most people quietly go to church or say their prayers and are perfectly nice and normal. It's yawningly predictable that as soon as you see a bible or a crucifix onscreen, you know you're about to encounter a whackjob.

Episode 15... I forgot how unfiltered The Early Years were, not as unfiltered as Prisoner, but unfiltered.

Other than that, it's interesting how small town Summer Bay be anti-Nico, other than the Fletchers, McPhees and Stewarts (Oh and the only Hogan).
