I doubt they'll bring him back because they're not mad about LGBT characters.

In the very unlikely event he did return, I'd imagine his 2003 guest stint would be forgotten completely.

Only really Alf and Leah were around at the time of that.

Those old episodes are unlikely to see the light of day anytime soon, so they're the equivalent of the tree falling in the forest with nobody to hear it. It's very easy to make things unhappen. If they were to bring Chris back they'd need to get a move on. He's starting to get on a bit now - he'd be 36 now. Perhaps he might oust Alf et. al from his old house

And Irene. It was Irene's house he was staying at during his visit.

Exactly! We've had worse rewrites of H&A history.

Chris is more likely to head up a new family now rather than blend in with the younger cast, which means his coming out story is even more likely to be forgotten. If H&A ever do introduce an LGBT character, it would no doubt be someone in their early/mid twenties, rather than someone 35+

Exactly! There would be an element of "titillation" to it as well, meaning it'd be a "hot" 20something guy(s) with abs and a six pack. Being roughly the same age as Christopher myself, I doubt I'd be casted to play a gay or bisexual man because I'm "too old" now for that said titillation element (sorry, I don't personally identify with "LGBT..." "umbrella" labels as much as I don't with "BAME").

This obsession with under 30s is as much of a problem WITHIN the gay / bi /MSM male community as it is from the outside.

The BTTB episode summaries is brilliant. I managed to track down the episode where Fisher's dishwasher foams like crazy when he puts too much liquid in it. Episode 967, 24 March 1992. (10 Nov 1992 UK showing).

Been wanting to find what episode that was for a long time. To think this was just 33 episodes away from the 1000th episode, 8th May 1992 (Aus pace).

November 1992 in the UK was when H&A was getting up to 17 million viewers, as I noted in the Viewing Figures thread.

I don't remember that happening (might go check it out now 😃) but those sort of mishaps were good fun. One that I enjoyed was the time Alf hurt his back and bought a waterbed. He hired Shane and Damian to assemble it and it didn't go well.

Ultimate 1994 storyline! Complete with lots of "Oh Alf!"s and clasped hands from Ailsa about the entire saga.

The show was so feel good in those days.

It so was! I can watch a 1994 episode now, barely remember what actually just happened (the year of so little plot) but... I feel happier than the beginning of the day and am smiling with laughter by the end of it!
