It's an interesting "what if?", isn't it? If the shop had survived, I think it'd look like any other modern-day convenience store. But I'd have liked to see the people behind the late 90's Bayside Diner makeover have a go at it. That was so garish, they should've been handing out sunglasses at the door.

The exterior, on the other hand, is something I'm more interested in. If you've not read about the store, there's an interesting write-up on this very site. They used a derelict old store that was scheduled for demolition and gave it a brief new lease of life. But it ultimately had to go and that's why Dodge burned it down. In hindsight, it could've become a tourist trap an iconic location if they'd saved the building or replicated it elsewhere.

They wanted to go  hard v Bonza Burger with the "More is More" approach, I guess lol.

The original Bayside Diner was a really good upgrade and I guess they spent the money on that set when it became evident that H&A wasn't a 3 month wonder. I'd still love to come in, sit at one of the booths, and pig out on a burger, milkshake and Pippa's baking. The less said about the makeover the better ?‍♀️

VJ ageing (at least physically) 8-10 years in 2014 was way worse to me.

He went from 8-12 in 2011

"Duncan" ageing from 9 to 12 in 1999. Absolutely ridiculous

If you were a Neighbours fan you'd have melted down at Lucy v1 (Kylie Flinker) going to France aged 11 for 10 weeks, coming home as Lucy v2 (Sasha Close) 3ft taller and 2yrs older 😂

As for Duncan his most recent head (Benedict,2016) couldn't be more different from the last three!

I don't remember VJ ageing that quick in 2011. He started year 7 that year and was played by the same actor. Any growth spurt would have been natural.

He should have only been 9 at the time going by when he was born. I'm not sure when it was made explicit but it's generally assumed they aged him up when they recast the role in 2007.

Yeah I think they aged him up in 2007. Interestingly enough, when Lily returned in 2010, she was in high school yet VJ didn't go in till the following year despite them being born the same day.
