To be honest, three recent storylines stick out to me as being really dark. Example: Emmerdale: "Right, it's bad enough Dan's first few wives left him and he winds temporaroly paralysed? his daughter is his bio niece and now let's send him to prison for a one-hit kill!" Neighbours: "Aw, Toby lost Noelene... Let's finish off Kerry too!" (Poetic license, Linda Hartley made it clear after a year and half, she was done which like aided things) Quote
flea Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 The cot death / sudden death storyline with Pippa/Dale. It was so cruel, so un-necessary and so tragic. However, it was, and sadly is, also so real. Quite possibly one of the darkest storylines, but also one of those that was so powerful because of how horrible it was. It was uncomfortable, it was upsetting, it was emotive and most of that is because as bad as the subject matter is, it is a real horror that exists. (For clarity, I watched H&A from the beginning around the year 2000 - I don't recall the storyline the first time round, but it is one that has stuck with me for its sheer gut-wrenching awfulness) 1 Quote
j.laur5 Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 Ross Nixon killing both Colby's parents and hiding Bella from the real world. He drove Colby to killing him and Colby's eventual downfall. Marilyn's long lost daughter and Irene's rape even though they both rewrote the characters history. Quote
