1988 episodes on That's TV 2-Discussion

Given the news that new channel "That's TV2" are going to be airing H&A from Episode 1 I thought it would be a good idea to launch a thread to discuss it.

Seems as though the rerun starts tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd January).

1988 is one of my fave seasons of H&A, it was a fab year for me, but not flawless. It was trying to find its feet.

To think the That's TV 2 reruns of H&A will be starting exactly 2 weeks before the shows 36th anniversary on 17th January.

I hope they show more than 1988. That first season is so easy to access legally, both in Australia and the UK (and further afield if you have a VPN)

Honestly, I'd love to get to 1996 after the 7Two reruns dropped off.

At least this is being shown at 8-9pm rather than in the daytime (like the 2000-2001 rerun that Five Life had in 2007, requiring recording it to watch later).  That said, I won't be at home to watch it at 8pm for the next 3 weeks (so we'd be getting into the Sandra Barlow story, Carly's assault, etc. by the time I can watch), and I can only watch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and some Fridays.

I would love to see 1997 again, the first year without Shane or Angel, and when Liam Tanner and co were the new kids on the block. And Don's mother turn up who looked younger than him.

Hell yes.

1881 would be a great restart, for me personally.

This would have been great news several years ago but that ships now sailed. I too want to see it from the point 7Two dropped off in 1996. It wasn't long after this point that I'd stopped watching it the first time round so a lot of it would be new to me. I was on and off in the late 90s and there's characters like Stephanie and Casey who I didn't see much of at all. It was before the internet really took off so I've never been able to find bikini pictures of them on the internet but I live in hope they did bikini scenes and we will get to see these episodes. I also remember Natalie Nash in a swimsuit just after she joined but no pictures of it on the internet.

I just don’t think anything after Shane’s death is going to happen because they said there was some rights issue however I’d be shocked if That’s TV acquired the rights to everything miraculously 7 aren’t as kind with the 90s as they seem to be with the 80s now

And yet, yet again, we had two episodes from later in 1996 in Channel 5's latest online old episodes package, which leaves me continuing to doubt that this so-called rights issue is anything other than a convenient excuse or, at most, a minor inconvenience.
