You can delete the songs you don't want on it, by deleting them in iTunes, and linking your iPod nano up to your computer so that it updates your library.

Do the same with the pictures, delete the pictures you don't want from the place you have them on and update.

Or, you can turn off the automatic synchronising in iTunes, then when you connect your iPod to your PC, you can delete the files from the iPod without removing them from the iTunes library.

That's what I do when I'm adding stuff, I don't add tracks to my iPod until I've made sure the song titles are correct and stuff. Also, I have some stuff in iTunes that I can't be bothered to put on my iPod! I never need to delete anything from it, ever, but I don't want to synchronise it with iTunes, I'd rather manually select what goes on and what doesn't :-)

It's easier, it means you can keep stuff in your iTunes library rather than having the same stuff in iTunes as what's on your iPod.
