God some of the people on the other end of the PC World Serviceline are just plain imbeciles!

My laptop has packed in, the screen does not work whatsoever, as in when I swtich it on, the screen does not come on at all. It doesn't just come on and go to a black screen, it just does not come on.

First of all we phone up and it's a foreigner who eventually answers, meaning we can't actually work out half of what he's saying, and he doesn't understand half of what we're telling him. We give him our last reference number, we've got about 4 of them, which should bring up all our information - but of course he can't find it and we end up going through everything all over again.

When we eventually get onto the problem, he tells me to take the battery out, take the power out and hold the power button for 20 seconds.

When that pointless exercise is complete, with no change whatsoever, what does the idiot tell me to do? He tried telling me to start it up in Safe Mode - but whether it did or not is irrelevant, as I can't actually see what's on the screen!

Then to insult me even more, what does he say? Try altering the brightness! Can't he get it through his thick head that the screen does not physically come on?! I know a lot about computers, and for him to say that was just patronising!

He's eventually got it into his head that it needs to be taken in to an engineer (someone who actually knows what he's talking about rather than trying to read out of a manual which any chimp can do) - in the middle of sorting out collection date for the courier...and he cuts us off!

Now through to an English guy which may be able to help a bit more...

this thread makes me laugh because the problems vary from not serious to very serious. Like some people are moaning because they have exams coming up etc whereas others are sad because they've missed a tv show. I can't wait to leave school when thats all I have to worry about.

Sorry to sound like a know-it-all adult, but what they tell you is true. School is the easy bit. What do you think happens? Suddenly you have bills to pay, you need somewhere to live, you need steady work with good prospects, you have serious relationship problems, and so on. And you're not going to have someone there to do it all for you.

It's after school when the real worries start.........

That's why I don't want to go into Sixth Form in September, because it means that I'm getting closer to going to University where I'll have to fend for myself and do loadsa work! Arghhhh! I just wanna be the girl who never grows up! :P

Cheeky monkeys ......... I ordered something from a website ..... I type in correct information ..... the item was £4.49 ...... then they cancel my order twice saying that I have wrong information then they go and put the price of the item I wanted up to £5.99.

I have a huge moan for today.

I arrived in school at 8:30 because I was going on a trip. The trip was a big deal for me because I hate being around other people, I get scared. We left the school at 9:30, when school starts. We arrived at the destination at 2 o'clock! It was the longest drive ever! Then I was told that tomorrow could be my last day of school this year. Our year is going to an adventure centre on wednesday and thursday, and we have friday off. Our year also gets off a week before the rest of the school. It is my moan because I still have my 3 projects to do and my report card will be rubbish because I didn't do them!

Then at 4 o'clock we left. I arrived to town at 7:30PM, dad didn't collect me until 8:20PM!!

This day is just ****!!
