The 'have a moan' thread

I know how you feel Mercury Girl - finally got up to make some food, and now it's taking forever to cool down! It's just sitting in frint of me looking delicious and I can't eat it (unless I wish to permanently destroy my taste buds). I have to keep watching it too - otherwise I just know Angel (my dog) will decide she feels like noodles today : )

It's plain torture (but at least I have this forum to distract me!)!

Things are impoving, though. I got back from the store 5 minutes ago, and will light the BBQ is just a few minutes... :)

yum yum. A BBQ. Enjoy!! :)

I am tired but I need to revise. May have a power-nap.

Yes, I should be revising too. I just can't seem to concentrate at the minute though :s

That's the problem - I'm worried if I go to sleep I won't wake up for hours. But I'm not taking anything in, and it's really complicated stuff, so I am going to do a little more reading (mainly of BttB I expect!) have a little snooze and then some coffee I think.

I find that I'm normally more alert in front of a computer screen (that's not just an excuse to use the internet more) - so try tracking down a good revision website.

If you'd rather stay awake than take your power-nap, get some music on (as long as it doesn't distract you), make sure your working environment is well-lit. Eating citrus fruits can help (or drinking them, or just the scent). Oh - and getting up every 20 minutes or so and just doing something energetic (no matter how crazy) is good - otherwise, take your nap but set multiple alarms for when you want to wake up (I have 5)!

Well, I'm just telling it like it is! :)

Annette, I know exactly how you feel about surgically attached boyfriends. MY advice would be, if the friend means that much to you, stick with it. It took me about a year to adjust to my best mate's full on relationship, but now everything's fine and me and her boyfriend get on like a house on fire! :)

Yeah, but I never get the chance to get on with her boyfriend because she always goes round to his flat and I never see her! I'm considering subletting her room out... She went out on Saturday and I haven't seen her since. I assume she's still alive (although I do live in Nottingham, so you never know...).

My moan is how people paint Nottingham as a s**t place to live, when actually only a small part of it is that bad. :P

I also don't think that people should expect an apology if they can't spell the word (not that I actually know what the argument was about in the first place; just an observation).

I have to say I'm one of them due to the fact that Dan lives there.

Just kidding, no my newspaper recently had it has the most crime-y place in the UK with rapes, shootings and murders by the minute.

I don't really know why the argument started out in the first place, but I asked h&afan and MG to apologise to each other and just drop whatever was going on, which at that point stretched across three threads. It's the feeling behind the comment, not the spelling I want.

The thing about Nottingham was just a joke, in my experience it's not any worse than anywhere else. You just need to stay out of the dodgy bits (the same as with any other place). I'm pretty sure you don't get people getting shot in areas like The Park. Way too posh for that.
