Emmadolly Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 My mother doesn't seem to get that there is a reason that I don't want to hear about any of her relationships- I still miss my Dad (edit: he died of cancer). It's like he's being replaced, and she doesn't get that, which makes me angry. You'd think she would understand. I am sorry to hear about your dad. It sounds like your mum needs reminding, that you have needs and feelings also. It will be hard for you to see that she has moved on, but she needs to take notice of your feelings also. Try telling her how you feel about the changes, you never know, you may start to understand each other in time. All the best.
Emmadolly Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 Hay by the way. To all that read my post about my step daughter ( Danica, three pages back). He has finished with her, so we are really pleased, as we did not have to step in and be the bouncers. I have learned my lesson, by going with my gut instinct, and not interfering and upsetting her. This way i have been able to be there for her with her pain, instead of causing her up set. I have to say, that the two replies i had, helped me out enormously. Thanks.
