bay girl Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 I'm moaning because i'm at work. It's so quiet and it's so boring, because i work by myself. I guess it's good that i can use the internet at work when it's not busy.
Elise Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 My moan....it's hot and smoky here from the Bushfires in Vic. Currently 37.5 and visibility is low due to the smoke. Not my idea of fun. Tomorrow will be way worse, 36c with a strong northerly wind, with the chance of storms. The storms won't have much rain in them, and the lightning is more than likely to cause more fires. My thoughts are with the firefighters.

shen Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 I live in Melbourne, and it has been smoky all day. And hot..yuck. I used to live in country victoria (i only moved to melbourne a year ago) and it's kind of scary that where I used to live could be affected by the bushfires in the future. Its truly devastating..i have never seen the bushfires so bad.. EDIT: Also, I think it will get even worse because tomorrow they predict thunderstorms..which means that lightning could ignite even more bushfires. Lightning strikes started these fires in the first place..

Elise Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 It got to 42 degrees today! More fires are going, and with the chance for storms that are high based with little rain, it spells trouble for the firefighters. Let's hope this storm isn't too lightning active.
