The 'have a moan' thread

I'm not sure if I'm more angry or upset right now.

Every year, just after New Year's and before we (my 3 friends and I) all go back to school it has been a kind of 'tradition' to spend the last weekend or last few days together, usually in one person's house. Each year it would be a different person's house. It's always fun and games...one big laugh.

Somehow when we all started uni this 'tradition' turned from being what was a massive sleepover/gathering to going away for a few days.

This is where the annoying bit comes in - we are meant to be going today - well in the morning! We have been talking about this non stop for ages. All my things are packed and I have cancelled on a lot of things and taken time of work for this, but about an hour ago 2 of them texted me within a few minutes of each other to let me know that they won't be making it and apologised for not being able to tell me earlier. I didn't get an explanation as to why either coudln't come

I really needed to be working, as well as getting my essays and notes sorted but I didn't want to let the others down and made an effort to make sure I can go. I don't think my other friend even knows that these 2 have bailed on us. So I'm going to have to find out and let her know as well.

I understand that there could be some reasonable explanation as to why both of them had to cancel and chose to let me know around the stroke of midnight. Whatever it is, I hope it's nothing too serious.

Moan over :(

Was in hospital for Christmas/NY and just come home yesterday.Thing is,seeing as my veins are so bad i had 5 canulas in a week and now my arms are red, bruised and achy.I'm also really hot but i think that's just the weather, not my temperature back to haunt me.

There is a plus...My leg no longer looks like a tomato and is also no longer as hot as a chilli!

Today I met up with a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a couple of months. She came to meet me armed with a bag full of goodies and a cake for the birthday that she had missed. She even lit all the candles on it and made me blow it out there and then. As silly as I felt doing that, it was really sweet of her and it meant so much that she did that for me.

The 'moan' part is that I was so close to calling her up in the morning and cancelling as I've been feeling ill since last night, but I made myself go because I knew I wouldn't get to see her again for quite a while.

It was great to start with but after a while I felt ill again and knew I had to come back. So I did...and now I'm all tucked up in bed. I just hope my friend realises that I wasn't being wierd with her or anything.

I've emailed her and told her that it meant a lot and even if I was only there for a while, it was still great. I just wish I had felt well enough to stay for longer and have a proper catch up. :( I had been looking forward to our catch up for a long time...now I don't know when I'm going to see her again. We're both leaving to head back to our universities in a few days. :(

They switched off the electricity in our street for 3 hours (from 2.30 pm till 5.30 pm) and they didn't tell us. Of course, I needed to use my computer today. Not to mention, it's getting dark after 4.00 pm. In the dark, you can't study and candle light doesn't help.
