My sister has a week off work in about... 3 weeks. Last night she offered to book me in for a tattoo at a local place. I was excited for a few minutes before I thought about it. I can't get a tattoo for multiple reasons.

1. I still haven't found the design I want.

2. I am trying my hardest not to spend any money for the next few months.

3. I want the tattoo on my arm. I want it to go from the elbow to the wrist but I can't get that done for an obvious reason. I can't let anything get in the way while I'm doing this photography course. If my arm bruises and it becomes painful I'm screwed.

This sucks. I've wanted a tattoo for two years and when I finally get round to booking in, I can't :( !

Maybe I could get it done after the photography course, as a way of celebrating?

Hey Tainted Muse,

I hope you don't mind me saying buy (IMO) there is no such wording as "I Can't".

If you deep down realy wanted a tatoo, you wouldn't let any obstacles get in your way. We're all guilty of saying "I can't do this"... "Ican't do that"... do you REALLy want a tatoo? Then go for it girl, and make sure to post a pic!

Oh I want one and I will be getting one. This is the first time in a long while that my sister has had a week off and isn't going away for it. She always tells me that she wants to be there when I get my first tattoo, which is why she offered.

The main problem is getting it done while still doing my photography course. This is the first course I have ever done and it's taken me years to get this far in my life. It means a lot to me and that is why I don't want to get the tattoo in a few weeks before I'll still have two lessons to go.

I don't want to risk anything going wrong. What if I get the tattoo done on my arm and it's painful for a few weeks? Then I really am screwed when it comes to taking pictures.

So it's not a case of me debating whether to get one or not because I've had that debate with myself (and the muses of course) early last year. I'm excited about getting a tattoo and the pain will be welcomed... but I can't put it above the one thing I have been wanting to achieve ever since my social phobia kicked in.

Pictures will be posted though

Hey Jess,

Are you planning on getting more than one tattoo in the long run? If so why don't you start off with a smaller one somewhere, er, more convenient? Then your sis can still be there for your first tattoo and you can get the one on your arm done when you finish your course?

... The other one I want may have to be done in two sittings because it might be big. I was hoping to hold off on that one.

I've decided to wait and have a real good look on the web for some good designs

I think you're probably doing the right thing, Jess, because my friend just got a couple of tattoos about three weeks ago and they're really painful for her right now. Don't get me wrong, she doesn't regret getting them, not one bit, but it may get in the way of your course.

What kind of design do you want, or are you not sure yet?

I'm here to moan about my dad! <_< He's normally so laid back and casual when it comes to parenting. Ok, I know how bad that sounds but it's not. He doesn't let us all run riot or anything he just.. I don't know! Anyway, yeah.. he's now suddenly turned all strict because he's trying to warn me off a guy. I understand that it's a delicate issue for him but I don't really know what to do!

That's probably a good idea but I normally always end up getting angry because.. well.. just because I do, lol. I don't really like being told what to do! :P

It's like, I know my dad's just trying to look out for me or whatever but he's being really stubborn on this one - as am I!
