Like I have to revise Simon Armitage, Caroline Ann Duffy, poems. This is what i had to do. Make notes around the poems, and try to remember them. You'll get the anthology in the exam, which is good, so it will trigger your memory if you forget. Also, i'd suggest perhaps practising spelling any words you have trouble with, or just writing correctly in general - they tend to pick up on that. Otherwise, just answer the question: Introduction, what the poem is about, Literary techniques used like Similies etc, Discuss what you think the poem is saying and conclude. Make sure you use paragraphs or you can't get above an E grade. Always put an introduction and conclusion. Otherwise i'd say, just read the question carefully. xxx

MarMar Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Also, one idea/arguments/etc per paragraph. Introduction should include what you want to "prove" with your essay. Remember to sum up all loose ends in the conclusion.

There's sub-text upon sub-text. English Lit is not my favourite subject at the moment, but i'm looking forward to starting the Great Gatsby (sp?) after the exams. xxx
