It depends what they're on. What books/poems do you have to analyse Tamxxx?

AQA specification A, its an anthology containing poems from different cultures, short stories.

Like I have to revise Simon Armitage, Caroline Ann Duffy, poems.

This is what i had to do. Make notes around the poems, and try to remember them. You'll get the anthology in the exam, which is good, so it will trigger your memory if you forget. Also, i'd suggest perhaps practising spelling any words you have trouble with, or just writing correctly in general - they tend to pick up on that. Otherwise, just answer the question: Introduction, what the poem is about, Literary techniques used like Similies etc, Discuss what you think the poem is saying and conclude. Make sure you use paragraphs or you can't get above an E grade. Always put an introduction and conclusion. Otherwise i'd say, just read the question carefully.

*moans* My brain hurts. I've just spent a few hours writing and my head is killing me.

On the plus side, I have new chapters ready to be beta'd before posting. They are long chapters muwah!

Also, one idea/arguments/etc per paragraph.

Introduction should include what you want to "prove" with your essay. Remember to sum up all loose ends in the conclusion.

Thanks for the help everyone

Its not fair though, though from the 2006 exams onwards I wont be abe to take an Anthology to the exam.

Some of my AS exams are closed-book. How am i supposed to learn 'Wise Children' like that? It's so complicated. There's sub-text upon sub-text.

English Lit is not my favourite subject at the moment, but i'm looking forward to starting the Great Gatsby (sp?) after the exams.
